Hubbie (aka undercover elephant) had Blue out this am on the beech. Blue was chassing oyster shells then suddenly let out a cry, think he has broken his toe - they are at the vets at the moment and my stomach is like a washing machine!!
Let you know what happens. Hope everything is ok only got him in July but love him to bits he is such a huge part of the family
Hi, Red, my 18mth old broke his toe when he was young. The vet said metacam and time. He is fine now. I think they break them easy due to the length of their toes.
So sorry to hear that, Noah has had a toe removed before we got him & while running a few months ago he stubbed it on something & burst it open, he has thankfully recovered but I know how you must be feeling. Hope everything goes Ok, the are not the bravest (well Noah isn't anyway, no pain threshold) just need to give lots of TLC & no more walks to the beach for a while...take care & let us know how he gets on
Well he is back! Nice big blue bandage and thank fully all toes still in tact. He has broken the middle bone of his middle toe on left front paw. Nothing they can do other than dress it and wait to see if it heals by itself.
Aww bless him, he will be loving all the extra attention. lets hope it heals well and he is back to his old self soon. He looks so peacful in the land of nod!!
Well Blue, if anyone really knows how you're feeling just now, it's me! I am lying in bed, with my ankle strapped up, popping painkillers like smarties because I had the metalwork removed and it's blooming sore! I've been sick loads too. Tell mum and dad to give you lots of cuddles and petting. Hope we both feel better soon.
He is sore today, finding it difficult to bare weight on it but not off his food.
Took him out this am to do what a dog has to do. He found going to the loo a bit tricky and couldn't balance well so decided to poo standing up. Unfortunatly bum was pressed against someones chicken wire fence......think iv'e said too much already
Last summer I was out walking Rosie and a neighbour's dog when I slipped and broke both my arm and my leg and had to have the bones screwed back in place with a metal plate. At the time Rosie was only about 9/10 months, but she stayed with me, even when the paramedics and onlookers arrived, she didn't run off. Needless to say, I am very careful now and invested in a pair of golfing wellies with spikes in them to make sure I don't fall again!
Carole what a wonderful dog Rosie is (I'm sure I don't have to tell you that) Sounds as though you've had a really tough time of it. Hope you are feeling better soon
Oh Carole - poor you! Hope you get better soon. If it happened last summer, it's been a long time for you to be pinned up! Good for Rosie - what a great girl staying by your side when you needed her to be there.
Hope Blue feels a lot more comfortable tomorrow - had to laugh at him pooing through chicken wire... yeah, enough said.
Well think Blue is feeling a bit better. He has decided that his bandaged paw makes a handy club for batting people when playing and he is back to bin raiding.
Silly me forgot to take the bin out when leaving him for an hour or so came back to whole living room covered in shredded rubbish not his fault so just put him out the way whist got on with the job of cleaning.
Typical a new toy in the shape of a vet arrived so he could seek his revenge, poor thing is so exahusted from his hard mornings work he couldn't be bothered even to sniff it!
