Hi Folks, received this email earlier today, wondered if this rang any bells with anyone or if anyone had had a dog in similar circumstance...
We have a greyhound/saluki thats health has recently started a rapid decline. It started with a dripping nose that never seems to stop, he has lost so much weight he is now suffering muscle wastage and he doesn't seem to be able to bring himself to eat. His faeces are normal, no vomiting, coughing or any other symptoms, he's had an examination and there are no phsical problems and his blood test shows nothing other than a slight decrease in white blood cells. He has always been a sensitive gentle dog good with oither dogs and people and he is now fading away in front of us. As a site dedicated to greyhounds we would appreciate any info. or advice as we just feel so helpless.
Hi Guys, thanks for your responses, received this today, some good news..
I am very happy to say we have had a breakthrough today.Yesterday someone patted skipper on the back of his neck he seemed to reel up and have what i can only describe as a spasm. We took him to the vets who tilted his head in all directions but when he lowered his head forward he let out such a scream! The vets now seems to know what the problem is and this pain is causing him not to eat so now we have a cause we have a solution and once his neck is fixed all being well he should return to normal.Thankyou again for all you're help i shall not hesitate to recommend your brilliant website to fellow greyhound owners!
