Many of you will have seen 'Anna's Appeal', sent out with a recent mailing. Anna was taken into the owner's home to be kept as a pet after he decided he couldn't let her go anywhere else. Last week she started to limp badly and he was told by the vet that she was suffering from osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in both back legs. He had no choice but to have her euthanised to save her from further pain.
It is so sad that this beautiful girl had so little time to enjoy life in a home.
I'll go along with what Manda said. At least Anna wasn't suffering for long, and her discomfort was noticed quickly, and dealt with. It's so sad, though.
This is such sad news! Anna had so little time to enjoy home comforts but at least she didn't suffer long. Her owners must be distraught - please pass on the message that we're thinking of them.
What a blow! There seemed to be a life line for Anna. I know the fund raising folks at the Ben Nevis PUb and especially Gladys will be devastated. Gladys brought along a comfy blanket for Anna last week. She will be so dissappointed to hear hows things turned out.
I knoe Dave will donate the blanket t to a needy hound in memory of Anna
So very sad to hear about Anna. We met her the day she came along to Strathclyde Park and what a gentle girl she was. Such a shame she didn't have more time to be loved and cuddled the way she deserved. At least she isn't in any pain now though.Hope she has lots of fun with all her friends in Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about Anna. It's some comfort that her final days weren't spent in a shed but what a pity she didn't know more love in her life. I think I'll give my two an extra special cuddle tonight in her honour.
