Hi Fiona, I'd give her a wee bit in the morning see how she is and if she's still a bit loose then starve her for 24 hours...usually if one of ours is a bit sick or loose they get starved for 24 hours right away but if Pearly is looking better and managed the rice tonight she's prolly on the mend already!

Thanks, Dave. We gave her a small bit of breakfast, which she polished off like a shot. She's still loose as loose can be so we'll rest her tum for 24 hours, see how she goes. She didn't wake us up in the night last night to go out for the loo, so hopefully she is on the turn and feeling a bitty better.

Can I ask a daft question. Has pearly been wormed recently? Blondie had a bit of an upset tum and after worming has been great. Much easier with the poo bags I might add. Just a thought.

Wilma has a very sensitive tummy and we usually only give her scrambled egg in the morning and plain white rice at night when she has the same problem! We usually keep this going for a 2-3 days - till the runs stop - and then gradually introduce her normal biscuits in over the next couple of days. Seems to work for her (and saves a trip to the vet for an injection!!) We are currently using the same trick with Barney (although he did need the injection and antibiotics!!) and hope to see his pooh getting back to normal in the next day or two!

Well, the threat of starvation clearly has done the trick! Pearly produced something very satisfying firm on our walk this evening - she was a bit puzzled by our jubilations! Looks like she's well on the road to recovery.

are dicky tummys a greyhound thing? I've had Blondie to the vet vomiting blood (cream carpet). Then within a week she had the skits this time hornby railway set and cream carpet. I'm terrified to give her anything strange to eat (chicken curry) in case she lets rip again. But she does seem to suffer from grumbly tums quite often and can clear a room in seconds.
