Thank you for giving me this beautiful big boy!!

Great news, Dawn - but what a fast worker you are! There wasn't a sniff of all this happening on Saturday at the Hot Dog Show. I'm really delighted for you and McGinty - I know you've waited a long time for a Denzel-proof dog! Can't wait to meet McGinty and you at the next GAL event.

Hi Christine,
I only found out myself on Sunday night, and next thing - tonight, the big fella is here!! I wanted a sort of small dog, so maybe that's why Dave moved so fast, in case I had time to change my mind. So far so good with Greyhound loving Denzel, but time will tell, fingers crossed. They are both sound asleep at the moment, no muzzles on either of them at the mo, but Den may need one!!
So honestly, when I saw you all I had no idea........but, Dave on the other hand, well I guess he knew - thats all I'm saying!!

Hi Dawn

Aha! So it's Dave who's the fast worker! But honestly, I'm delighted at the way things have worked out. Den and McGinty have started off well when they're snoozing together without muzzles - fingers crossed!! Let us know how you're all getting on - I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with both of them - oh and please post lots of pics so we can see them together.

What a sweetheart McGinty is!!  This boy constantly wags his tail, what a joy to have around.  As yet he doesn't answer to his name, or perhaps he is just ignoring me, so I decided to shorten it to see if he learns his name any quicker. I thought the easiest thing to try was 'Mac', not having much luck at the moment with that either, and of course he would end up being Big Mac!!!  Zak would have been nice, because that is Kaz in reverse, but I'm not sure he looks like a Zak!!  Its early days and he may do something or respond to something which will give him a name straight away!!

Anyway, we both look forward to seeing you all on the 3rd July!

Dawn and McGinty, Mac, Zak, call me what you like - I'm not listening anyway!!!

Hi Dawn, Denzel and dog with no name!

Hope you are all ok. We are missing McGinty big style walks are not the same and the waggy tail is sadly missed, everyone at the vets was asking for him today, so I said I would pass on their regards.

The date to get his stitches out is the 20th of June.

I was thinking about his name, as he is tall dark and handsome surely their must be some obvious names for tall dark and handsome blokes !!!!!

Do you not have to move postings about him out of the foster dog section now !!!!

Love

Susan and co

PS have you got someone to do your bathroom yet

Hi Susan & Co

What a wonderful boy McGinty is - wagging his tail and he gave me a 'smile' today!!!

He is doing well with Denzel, not bothering about him in the house and Den coming on our walks with us, McG looking round to see if he is being followed by the mad cat. McG saw a few dogs enjoying being off the lead tonight and was a bit hyper when he came home, but he found the sofa last night, and cannot wait to climb on it when he is in the house!  He is such a sweetheart!  I found him out that he was a 'winner' won a few races in his time - a real champ!!  He was called Fergus!

He wil be much happier with all those stitches out... on the 20th, and he will be out of the fostering section soon!  He may be mentioned in here again if we find him a Densafe girlfriend!!

Well Susan, I will keep you up to date with his progress, and yes, finally got a hold of the plumber tonight, well his wife at least!! Many thanks for your offer.

And i will speak nicely to Dave to see if he can post some nice piccies of the big fella for me!!

Dawn, Denzel and (hopefully) Mac!! if he will ans to that.

Fergus is a nice name - how about reverting to that?

Looking forward to meeting him with you soon.

Hi Dawn

Absolutely delighted that things are working out with (big) Mac! Lol - it must be so funny seeing you walk along with the big man followed by Den to guard both of you. I LOVE it when dogs smile - it looks so goofy and it always makes me feel good when Vegas welcomes me home with one. It sounds as if the big man's settling in just fine.

Looking forward to seeing you at the walk on 3rd July. Hope there's a nice little girl there too, who'll get along with Den and Mac.

Hi all,

I think Fergus is a pretty cool name too. I had a cat called Fergus and I have to say he was the most charismatic and bizarre cat I have ever had. He pretty much refused to speak to anyone apart from myself and he used to come walks with all the dogs as well.

I am so glad you are all settling in together and McG does have the most gorgeous smile.

Hi Dawn

Just wondered how the boy got on today getting his stitches out. We are thinking about him. Have you decided on a name yet?

Hope you are all well

Hi Susan and all the gang

I think he is def going to be a 'Mac' - he is responding to that - got his stitches out today!  The ones at the back, near his 'you know what', are looking a wee bit sore, but he's not complaining!!  When I took him to the vet I put him in the hatch back and two miles along the road he climbed into the back seat, and settled down! He loves his wee buddie Denzel and even tried to give him a kiss!  He is very affectionate and is enjoying life as No.1 spoiled dog! He will look forward to seeing his  'Foster Mum' again, cos he is v grateful for getting the chance to 'Win His Race For Life'!!  I was very lucky to have the chance to adopt Kaz, and now Iam exceptionally lucky to have the lovely Mac.  He is a stunner too, watch out you guys when he walks into the show ring - he will scoop every 1st going -  he's a real black beauty!

Love Dawn, Mac and Denzel

Think I spoke too soon about how much Mac loved his wee pal Den, he growled at him last night. I think I should have called him Vic, after Victor Meldrew, cos he was obviously just being a grumpy boy cos he was a bit tender down below after getting his stitches out!!!

He is fine today, back to his old happy self and bounding about the place, Denzel paid him back today for the growl, by jumping out from behind a car and trying to 'dive bomb' Mac at 100 mph!! Mac nearly wet himself - he got such a fright - but you could see Denzel was delighted!!
They are just a couple of big kids! They could be best pals if Denzel gets over his death wish.
They are now both of a nervous disposition!!

Hi Dawn,

From the BGRD records, I believe it was Mac's 3rd birthday last Saturday 18th June.  The best birthday he's every had eh?!!   I took a note of this last week but I was away for the weekend, so belated  "Happy Birthday Mac" from all of us.       And hope to see a photo of you soon, and better still meet you soon.

P.S. Dawn great photo of you and Eddie at the SKC show.

Used to know a bloke with a cat called Kato, named that for the same reason. He used to wait until people came into the room and dive at them from the top of cupboards, perhaps he and Denzil are related?

Rebell and UCE

Laughing at your posting about Clouseau and Kato, thats exactly what they are like!!  Thats how I had described the incident of Denzel dive bombing Mac to my friends - sadly some of them were to young to remember the 'Pink Panther'!!

Denzel is terrified of all dogs except Greyhounds, and he goes out of his way to torment the life out of them.  When he jumped out and ran at Mac the other day, I must admit, I nearly jumped out my skin too!! One of Dens fav games is running under and around Mac, just to confuse him - I'm sure he's shouting 'catch me if you can'!! No wonder Mac growls at him!!
