the utterly irresistable Maisie has settled in nicely - presently curled up in a ball on the sofa, Murfs curled up in his beanbag....I had to hoover when I got her home as the floor was a disgrace & daft flatmate cant read polite notices asking him to do it!! (he he - got our own back when he got caught in his boxers when I brought Sharon up to see Maisies new home! lol)
Officially scared of the hoover - even had a wee widdle in the hall...then scared of mop...
aucht well. We are going to have a very gentle couple of days of just doing normal things & then we can go visit pals to show her off & introduce her to some more exciting things!!
Reckon she will take to it all like a duck to water - shes not even wincing at my flatmate Chris approaching & petting her - not bad at all after only 1 brief meeting!
Im soo happy....*big contented sigh*

Ive now got 2 shadows!!! the black one is looking at me very woefully tho coz the blondie insists on curling up as close as poss to me with her head on my lap. Black one looking a bit left out...will fuss him later.
They had a mad half hour wrestling on the floor - never seen Murf play like that - sooo cute! Lots of mutual chewing of legs & silliness. Both ate perfectly together & even helped lick each others bowls clean & then drank out the same water bowl.
Murf is quite interested in her teats for some reason & has been sniffing her ALL over! (ahem) & been getting licky faces & licky ears in return!
I love the way Maisie is so small that she can walk under Murfs belly!! & if concerned about anything (like the hoover!) she seems to hide under there too - Murf just stands & lets her!
Sharon - Ive done a full close up body check - blimey - is there an inch on her that isnt scarred/have lumps on it??? Poor wee mite
- bless just got a licked chin - presume thats a good sign! She certainly seems very content so far! Not sure Murfs so sure - shes using his bum as a pillow at the mo!!
Im soooo in love!

I wish you all the very best with your new wee addition.
What a lovely write-up of Maisie's new home, with her new boyfriend Murphy and of course you and your flatties. I've just gone aw, all the way through!
Sounds as though she is very happy in her new home and as for the poor sausages scars and lumps well Suzanne you just have to set to work kissing them all better. I know you will find this hard but am sure you'll manage
Well done Suzanne - sounds like things are going well.
It is touching to see them play isn't it. When Suzie arrived here we saw a whole new side of Sim - he plays more in the house, and is totally mad in the garden - even if she doesn't join in. Even now, with Suzie on the lead in the garden, he still hurtles around and does mad passes on us - veering off at the last second.
You will have lots of fun watching them get to know each other.
Great stuff, Suzanne! Maisie sounds so happy with you and Murph! I was very impressed with her at the Hot Dog Show - she allowed Billy to clap her and he was smitten too, as he said later on. She's come on leaps and bounds since Sha took her on, and things can only get better for her with you. Poor wee mite to have so many scars and lumps, but the memory of these will fade with all the happy times ahead for the three of you. It'll be fun for you watching Maisie and Murph play together - can't wait to hear about all the things they'll get up to.
I seemed to have missed all of this......however have lots of fun with your new doggie. It is lovely that Maisie and Murphy enjoy each others company, hopefully I will get to meet Maisie soon.
Maisie has passed the pub test!! Took the pair of them for a lovely 2hr walk in the Hermitage. Maisie was great - on the lead obviously but eyeing Murf up enviously as he explored the grounds. Soon honey, soon!
Off to the pet shop for more food & some toys for Mais & pigs ears for all, then popped into my kinda local for a pint. She was great!!! curled up on the carpet with her chew, next to her boyf & just watched the world go by. Even went up to strange men for a sniff & let them all pat her.
What a good girl!! Slept like a dream last night too, let her up on my bed for a cuddle this morning only to be booted out by the pair of them having a wrestling match. They play sooo gently together - lots of "i can open my mouth wider than yours & chew your jaw/elbows etc" - great fun to watch. very touching. They are def very fond of each other which is wonderful.
Cant stop grinning....

multicoloured rabbit with the rope legs may have to be pts. My pair are discovering the joys of tug of war with Murfs toy collection & Rabbit suffered double ear loss & then loss the use of its back legs as they were cruely ripped from its body. I believe he didnt suffer much & is now off to soft toy heaven (or the bin - but dont tell the dogs as they would like to think that he has gone to meet with his pals eyore & squeeky monkey)
Im sure we will all take a moment tonight to mourn rabbits passing....

I know they say getting a dog is good for your health - both mental & physical but this goes one step further...
Im officially quiting smoking (after 15yrs-blee) - Maisie is terrified of cigarettes & wont come near me if I have one in my hand. I dont smoke in the house - just the garden & when out walking. So Sha - looks like the theory (& physical proof) of her having ciggies stubbed out on her rings true. Sick b@$&@*%$ !!!
ps. Hermitage walk this am - all done off the lead!!!! What fantastic recall she has!! & she had a whale of a time galloping up & down the hills exploring the woods - never left Murphys side! Can it get any better???
Oh yes it can! - was introduced to mum today (still pretending Ive only got her for a week or so) - mum fell in love big style!! A few more visits to grannies & we can break the happy news shes for keeps!! (as i pull out the driveway!! LOL)

I'm really enjoying hearing about Maisie settling into her new home. It's good to know she has your best interests at heart Suzanne! I did think she would make a great second dog, I told my husband that several times but he is soooooo slow on the uptake (or is it that selective deafness the doctor told him about)!
Best wishes to Maisie, Murphy and Suzanne for some happy ever afters.
So glad to hear everything is going so well with maisie and murphy, and good for Maisie in making you quit smoking what a very special reason for doing so.
I would love to get my hands on whoever did whatever they did to Maisie....bent down this morning to open a tray of dogfood - got out a knife to cut packaging....as soon as Maisie saw the knife (sharp kitchen knife) - she bolted from the kitchen & sat shaking on the sofa in the lounge.
I was almost in tears for her.....14 million kisses later & she was fine, but what a poor wee scone...
Made up for it with 2.5hrs at Gullane beach where her & murf galloped through the sanddunes & crashed thro the sea (she went belly deep!!) til they were fit to drop - they had a whale of a time!

wooooohhhooooooo shes here alright!! and shes getting her name changed to cheeky monkey!!!!
An entire box of stuffed toys - who have done no harm to anyone - have been brutally ripped apart limb from limb & then, to add insult to injury, had their innerds strewn around the house for all too see.....
Sniff. She is now starting to eyeball my nice fluffy sofa cushions!! Ive managed to rescue Elmo & sent him off to a safe hideout, but I fear he may need counselling judging by the shocked look on his face!

Belle managed to dispatch an innocent stuffed monkey last year. Well almost - she insisted on carrying his head around long after the rest of him had been consigned to the bin. It had a nightmarish quality about it...
Great to know that Maisie's having fun (as long as she stops eyeballing the soft furnishings!!).
New boyfriend Murf has obviously reached the safety level of knowing that Maisie loves him & will never be leaving him, so he still lets her through the doorway 1st & lets her eat out of his bowl at the same time - even tho her bowl isnt empty.
Last night he did however stretch & let-rip in her face - to which she actually left the room! closely followed by myself!!! This morning Maisie came onto my bed for a cuddle, went to give Murf a licky kiss as she has done every mornign so far & he belched a corker in her face!! nay manners that boy! - next he'll be teaching her how to make armpit f@rt noises!

nice sentement Fiona - but it also means everyone knows Ive got a doggie house!! peeewheeew!! *lol*
Just give Mais her 1st pork roll from Pets at Home - think it must be like heaven - she is going mental at it - pouncing & prancing all over the lounge like a loonie - attacking it, then havin a munch, then sending it fleeing across the room, which it makes it all the more fun to attack!!
Definitely got a wee wicked sense of humour this wee babe!!
ps. health check at vets - all clear. Vet was so upset at her scars....gave her 1st vaccination - not even an wince - clever girl!!
Important bit....drum roll!! Banners out for Sharons hard hard work!!......
Maisie weighed 17.5kg on 28th April......................21st June = 21.4kg!!!! wooooohooooo
well done Sharon!!! 4kg in 2mths is brilliant considering she had cronic cronic runs for the 1st month!! well done hon! she looks great on it! & she loved visiting you yesterday - even tho there was another 9 doggies to negotiate too! mad house or what!! but a real fun night - thankyou!

another weight gain - just a little one tho - yesterday she was 21.7kg when she got her 2nd vaccination...not as impressive as I hoped but the vet thinks shes reached her optimum weight as she is proportionally good - needs a bit more muscle tone but that will come....she is also getting used to eating Arden Grange which she is getting more enthusiatic about so hopefully we can reach 22kg soon & then Ill be content - she wont ever get much heavier than that as she is so petite anyway...
her fur is growing in nicely & hiding a few more scars thankfully - even her wonky ear (from being ripped to shreds) is regaining shape & both now have that lovely floppy saluki look appearing - I hope one day she will have fluffy saluki ears too but I doubt it - they have been too damaged...
Overall - she is looking better & better each day & her confidence is growing so well - she is so good with guys now - you still have to approach gently but she even gave Chris the vet licky kisses y'day - he was very taken with her!!
Hope you all see a big difference in her on Sunday!!
One proud mum xx
