Charles,

I have a crate in the car which is a 36" one - it is a bit tight, especially heightwise, but it's the only one that does fit in the car!   In the house for night time I have a 48" crate which is plenty big enough for JJ to stand comfortably and stretch out full length in.   The best prices I have found are on ebay.   JJ was used to a crate having been confined as a pup with his broken leg and he still seems to associate it with security and he is very relaxed about using it.

We have a 48" crate (the biggest size, I think) which absolutely dwarfed Pearly and she loved it! We don't use it now, though, but it's good to have it as a back-up. It was £59.99 from eBay - a place in Wales somewhere, if memory serves me correctly. Very swfit service - it was here in 2 days. If you're thinking of getting one from this place, might be an idea to order a clip-on bowl as well. We forgot to then had a helluva job trying to find one.

I think I did see a 52" crate, again on ebay, what a monster that would be - big as my son's bedroom (nearly).   I too paid £59.99 for the 48" which came with a bed.   Like FAJ delivery was very prompt.   The supplier was, as far as I remember, the pet shop, rugely, or something like that.   By the way, I have two tray types, one metal and one heavy duty plastic.   If you have a choice take the plastic!   The metal makes weird noises every time JJ moves, presumably as the metal flexes - very irritating!

Thanks Everyone,

My new cage arrived yesterday. I searched the net and came up with a good quality one from DOGHEALTH.CO.UK

48 -30 -33 inches   galvanised and hammerite painted   with plastic tray for  £63 inclusive of delivery.

Filled the cage with comfy duvet ans pillows -  left the door open. the four dogs all tried it out during the day  - the lure of a plumped up duvet  - what greyhound can resist.

Hi  Everyone,

The new cage take up quite a bit of room - but am already finding uses for it  - I've been drying some clothes during this warm spell.

Interested to fing out what other uses cgaes are put to.

Hi

You are the funniest!

Now, don't overload your cage with wet clothes or they could end up drying with a hard-to-iron-out waffle effect, of course should you iron.
