Quick and Easy Cheesy Treats

Prep Time approx 15mins
Cook Time approx 10mins

2 Cups of Plain Flour
1 1/4 cups of grated cheddar cheese
1 Clove are garlic chopped finely
1/2 cup of Olive Oil
4 Tablespoons of water (or until mixture binds into a ball)

for cup size I usually use a small mug for measuring so no weighing !! [Excellent!]

Put all the dry mixtures into a food processor and combine until it looks like breadcrumbs then gradually add the water until the mixture forms a ball which leaves the sides of the food processor clean. Roll out on a floured board to a depth of approx half an inch and cut into squares or use cutters to make more interesting shapes. Put cutouts on an ungreased baking sheet or parchment and cook in a hot oven for approx 10mins or until golden brown - cooking time will vary according to the size of shapes. Gas Mark 6 or 200 degrees C.
Cool on a wire tray then store in the fridge in an airtight container. Treats should last approx 2 weeks if stored carefully.

You can use the above basic recipe and add other yummy ingredients..... I sometimes substitute the water for OxO disolved in water to add a beef or chicken flavour along with the cheese. You can also subsitute dry ingredients for something else.....

Enjoy experimenting ......

Missy, Max and Dusty all LOVE these treats

Cheers
Katrina
p.s. Any other interesting dog treats you would like to share then please post it here.

Yip,

I'll try out that recipie  - for the dogs of course but what better than a treat that you can eat yourself!

I try to avoid buying biscuit treats as they are so expensive and some of them are full of colouring etc.

The dogs do love pigs ears and hide chews though!!

I'll let you know how the mix comes out!!!

Steve has just bought 4 packs of liver that he assures me he is going to bake into tasty, stinky training treats for our two. Methinks I will leave him to it.......
