We have just arrived home from our holiday in the sun. 'Team Brindle', alias Lara, Ty and Bruce, were at their Auntie Rachel and Uncle Eddie's while we were away. What happy dogs we found on our return! It's such a relief to know the team are with people we can trust completely and that they are happy and well looked after while we sun ourselves - and it doesn't cost the earh either which is important when you have three dogs!
This was the first time that we had been away since Bruce joined us. Just as with Lara and Ty after last year's stay with Rachel and Eddie, he seems to be more settled on his return. It's as if being away for a break and returning confirms that this is really his home and he is really 'one of us'.
He is so relaxed now and is finally showing his 'true colours' now that all - and I mean ALL - that kennel coat of fluff has finally come out. How could it keep on coming out like that! He feels as silky as the other two now.
The next challenge is taking the three of them to Viv's advanced classes - yes three at the one time with only two people! We are going to be two classes behind the others so there's a lot of catching up to do. Our three absolutely love the training and I don't think it's just the sausages! Look out Ivor, Fiddie and Amy here we come.
It's wonderful knowing that you can go off on holiday and know that your dogs are in the very best of care. Hope you enjoyed yourselves in the sun!
I'm delighted Bruce has settled in with you and is now part of the gang. Rachel and Eddie looked after Vegas while we were away last September and he was in super condition when we came back. I can't praise them enough! So Vegas will be back with them this September when we go off on holiday again.
Good luck with the training - look forward to hearing more about it all.
Glad 'Team Brindle' had a good holiday at Rachel and Eddies.Hope you enjoyed yours too.
Our foster Jamie was with them while we were away..Gambol and Keera went to my Mums...and he came out a happy well cared for boy. We had a very bad experience with our last dog at a kennels so as you can imagine we are very wary of who our beloved pooches go to now. We have decided that when we go away again that our 3 amigos will definitely go to Rachel and Eddies. It's so nice to have peace of mind that they're going to real dog lovers and not just a business that's in it for the money.
Hope to see you all soon
Shirley

It's a worry, isn't it, thinking about what to do with the doogles when going on holiday? Steve has a "special" birthday next year (if you want to know how old he is, then just ask Manda's wee boy, Harry!!) and we'd always planned to go off and do something wonderful to celebrate. Since having Hazza and Pearly, we've gone from thinking about a month in Hawaii (pre-dogs), to three weeks in British Columbia, to two weeks in BC, to one week at Niagra Falls, to possibly a weekend away somewhere, and what the heck we'd best take the dogs cos otherwise we'd only worry......
know what you mean. there was me thinking we'd have a nice hot holiday each year and now i'm wondering where we can take the doglets! mind you, we can't go far cos dave simply refuses to sit down in the car and i can't imagine him standing all the way to Scotland !!
Our first class was tonight. We had a very interesting evening, or at least two of the dogs did as Ty and I had to go into the office to stop Ty getting excited and barking at everything the rest of the class did! Poor Ty lay on the carpeted floor crying quietly while I watched the class through the connecting window! The good news is that he did do fairly well when it was his turn to perform - thank goodness - it was me who had trouble remembering all the things I had to do. Lots of practising to be done before next week!
Isn't it sad how quickly we slot back into daily life and the wonderful holiday becomes a distant memory? The consolation is that the relationship between the three dogs and between them and us always progresses after a holiday apart - strange, but so consistant that it must be true.
Looking forward to the walk on Sunday. Hope the weather is good. See you all there.
