well not a good morning for Janie, out her 1st walk of the day and I get a phone call, can you come and get us, Janie has hurt her leg and wont stand on it, let alone walk. Jumped into the car and off I set to collect her, well what a sight I was met with, laying on the grass she was ridged and shaking no way was she gonna stand so picked her up into the car and home. Had a good look and leg is starting to swell. Get ready for work and bundle janie in the car, she gets to come to work with me, by the time we got to work the shaking had calmed down a bit and she was able to hobble about. Got one of the vets to have a look and we still dont know what caused it but she had a bad allergic reaction to whatever it was, few injection later feeling much better she was allowed to go home, so phoned mum to come and get her and she has slept most of the day, managed to get home at lunch to check on her and she much better.
Not a great way to start a monday morning though!!!!!!!!
Ooyah, poor wee Janie. I hope she's feeling better now. Whereabouts was she walking when it happened? Do you think it could have been an adder? Not that I know much about such things, that is.
Sounds like a case for sausages and scrambled eggs for dinner..... Harry and Pearly are sending her loads of hugs and hope she feels better soon.
Well it could only happen to Janie couldn't it the poor girl! Did she have the same reaction when she was bitten by the snake? or do you think it was something else this time?
Give her a huge hug from us and a big kiss from Blue
Yesterday when we were out, Luca was having a sniff, then all of a sudden started freaking out and tried to drag me home. Tried to get there and finally managed after he had sat down, stood up etc. etc. all the way. I guessed that he had been stung but couldn't see where. Wasn't till we got home that I realised that the poor soul had been stung on the willy!!! He didn't much appreciate the ice pack that I applied to take the swelling down I can tell you.
So after a couple of tentative ventures out last night, Luca finally got his confidence back and this morning was skipping about the park.....untill he stood on a bee and got stung on the side of the foot!!! Another freakout and home to have yet another ice pack applied.
Unsurprisingly, he hasn't been too fussed about leaving the house yet. Think he's waiting until all the beasties die off. Talk about bad luck.
poor poor Luca. i know i shouldn't have but i did laugh about the first sting! sorry luca but, heck, it is sorta funny! must have been embarrassing for you tho - hope mum doesn't tell too many people about it.
hugs from dave & daisy who, so far, fingers crossed, haven't been stung by anything. i'll have the ice packs ready tho, just in case.
Janie says a big thank you for the hugs and good wishes, wants me to let you know she is feeling much better and enjoying taking it easy.
Not sure if it was a sting or a bite, we couldn't see any sting left in, but on close inspection there was 2 puncture marks, yes she did have the same sort of reaction when bitten by the snake last time, and we were walking in the same area just a bit further along the path in the field at the far end of Bakers, phil you know where I mean just past the second hill. the poor wee soul.
hope Luca is recovering from his rather nasty experience of being stung on the willy and has forgiven you for putting an ice pack on it.
Poor, poor Janie! I can't believe she was bitten by an Adder, not once, but twice (The Steve Irwin of the dog world??) I hope she's made a full recovery and I'm sure she's received lots and lots of TLC.
Also, apologise to Luca. I also smirked when I read about his unfortunate sting! However, the smile was quickly wiped from my face when I found a tick on Ozzy's bum!!!
