took my 2 down for a bit hearty 2hr walk at Vogire Country Park today with my pal & her 2 doglets....
1/2 way round & murf starts spinning on the spot - as we got close I spotted a wasp on his shoulder so I attacked Murf, as any good mother would ;) & started bashing his shoulder to get rid of it - poor mites tail was firmly clamped between his legs thinking - cripes - 1st the stingy thing & now mums beating me up!! Poor scone....
turns out the wasp had stung him on his lower eyelid as 5 mins later he looked like he had indeed done 3 rounds with Tyson!! His eye swelled shut & his cheek puffed up to the size of a tennis ball....my wee man!!!! back to the car we rushed....
BUT on the way - all of 10 mins later - Maisie started spinning on the spot & a wasp had stung her on her shoulder!! Being the brave wee soldier she is - she spun around, bit it off & spat it out, just leaving mum to pull out the sting....
Blimey!!!! we have lasted all summer without mishap & then both get stung within 10 mins of each other!! grrrr....off to the local garage for some piriton, piriton shoved down both throats ....2hrs later plus sardines for tea for my injured soldiers (& pigs ears for dessert) & all swellings have gone down!
stressful evening or what!! (mums now having a medicinal wine to get over the trauma...)

OMG Suzanne, poor guys, both on the same night. No show without Punch! Thats what you call bad luck, just as well their Mum knows exactly what to do. Wee Maisie is a real fighter isn't she! Poor Murph, better not tell Mac, cos Maisie will get all the sympathy and Murph wouldn't get any.....jealous guy my Mac!!!
We are getting into the silly season for wasps. They will be starting to get dopey as the weather cools towards autumn and this is when they get unpredictable and hence dangerous.
That was really bad luck though Suzanne - perhaps you were near a nest.
Suzanne - hope Murph and Maisie are Ok now! What bad luck for both of them to meet bad tempered wasps on the same day! Hope the medicinal wine did the trick for the stressed out Mum!
Poor Murphy and Maisie..hope they're feeling fine today..and your head isn't too sore or you may have to partake of some more of that wonderful medicine!!!!
