Yesterday morning I made a homemade minced beef and onion pie. I duely cooked the minced off first, creating a lovely gravy. Lined my tin with puff pastry then filled it with the gorgeous smelling minced beef filling. I then put a lid on the pie and baked it. Left it on the cooker top to cool for our dinner later. We were ALL looking forward to our pie but someone got to it first.... Reminds me of the three bears and their porridge.... Who's been eating MY pie ?
MAVERICK !!!!! AHHHHhhhhhhhh! That was OUR dinner NOT yours !!!!
He pulled the pie down off the counter top (landing rightside up for a change) then whilst still having his muzzle on managed to rip the pastry off before I could get to it. I guess the smell of the pie cooking was TOO irresistable (though I say so myself-I'm not a bad cook! )
So went back off to the shop and bought the ingredients again and made a new pie. This time let it cool down on the high window ledge..... ha ! Maverick - NO Chance this time..... However all the doggies got Minced Beef and Onion Pie for dinner thanks to Maverick (the left overs of his exploit)....and we also got to enjoy OUR Minced Beef and Onion Pie-unMavericked. Happy ever after

My mouth was watering just thinking about this pie.......no bloomin wonder the dog stole it, I think I would have as well!!!
Your pie sounded absolutely irresistable, Katrina! No wonder Maverick thieved it from under your nose. I can sympathise because I fall over Vegas regularly when I'm cooking - he's right behind me hoping that some of it catapults itself out of the saucepan on to the floor where he can get at it.
