Harry loves fruit. In fact, we've had to put the fruit bowl out of reach into the dining room and must, must, must remember to shut the door or he'll be in there to snaffle something. It's hard not to laugh because he'll be mooching around all quiet and good then suddenly he'll scuttle back to his bed and we'll hear a happy slurping noise. Mango, banana, nectarine, apple, papaya - you name it, he's taken it!
I know that grapes and apple pips are poisonous, and that strawberries aren't too good for them - but is there anything else we should know about?
BARF diet allows dogs to eat fruit & Veg with the skins on - yes even Banana skins!
My dogs eat loads of fruit & Veg.
You are right about grapes i think they cause renal failure, i dooubt if one or two would do much harm. My dogs have been eating apple cores for years, they are still alive & kicking !
I have toasted bread with honey and sliced banana in the morning and the Fiddie-boy loves it, so much so that he slighly pulls the banana skin off the table - doesn't really like the texture, but does endevour.
Even the wee girl (with bunches), wee Coco now likes fruit - she sees Fiddie enjoying banana and she takes some. But, at heart, she is a fast-food, refined sugar and white flour kinda girl at heart, well at tummy so I am chuffed she will take some fruit and veg.
I bought some trick 'n' treat sweeties and back to her usual self, she tries to escape with them - two fillets steaks lost and I aint her fool any longer - so still, she likes her sweeties. The big boy doesn't really have interest in sweeties but does like the tiniest of corners of dark chocolate once in a while.
Cor, I just love the dogs - all their little exploits are so endearing and funny; I tell you, they always bring a smile to face & thoughts, never mind a wee laugh.
