Its started in the Paisley area!! The b****y FIREWORKS We've actually had them on and off for the last few weeks. Flynn isn't bothered by them but poor Dan is a nervous wreck. It also really spoils the evening walk with the dogs because we dont want to go to far away from the house if we cant get dan back in quick enough if one goes off! Mallaig doesn't like it when she hears them but seems to be more worried by Dans reaction to them! I think with the new laws you don't hear as many as you did a few years back but it is still a real pain. They thought it would be really funny one Sat morning at 3am to let the loud bangers off up the Breas, I live near the bottom of the breas, I think you could hear them echoing around Paisley Anyway I hope everyone takes care in the next few weeks and we all get through it with as little stress as possible
Yes, dannyboy - they've started and I echo what you say that hopefully we all get through the next few weeks with as little stress as possible. Last year was Tyler's first year with us and we learned alot through the experience, so we feel more prepared this year.
The fireworks started with us last Saturday afternoon whilst Tyler was lounging in the lovely warm sun in the garden - poor mite came charging indoors pushing every obstacle out of her way looking for a place to run to or hide. Out came the Rescue Remedy drops as we didn't know how long they would go on for. Her night time shakes have started when we mention walkies and its dark outside.
Its supposed to be about 2 weeks before Nov 5th the shops sell fireworks now - so suppose it is better than it used to be
Yep they've started near me too in the Mosspark,Glasgow area. It drives me and the animals mad! And how many weeks is it till Guy Fawkes Night? 2 whole weeks away and we're already getting them this early on.
I know I am far away down here, but we get them bad too, although fingers crossed none yet! I am absolutely dreading it because as you will all know Chad is new and an unknown quantity. I don't know how he will react yet, so quite worried... Woofing is calming down but I can imagine this setting it off again.
Last year my next door neighbours had fireworks on the Wednesday evening that I had come in late from college.Kevin had gone out and the kids were here alone in a panic. Charlie hated fireworks and had weed everywhere. He was paceing and crying for hours afterwards I was livid! The one day that I had been out they chose to do it.They have guinea pigs and rabbits and I think that as an animal lover you should think really before having them.
Lets hope we all get through it Em, Tig and Chad x
