Lucy is so difficult to photograph! I keep missing the shot as she is always busy... However I have managed to get a few of her recently.
I have taken to uploading pictures on my .Mac site and you can see the latest at http://homepage.mac.com/dinomartino/PhotoAlbum7.html There are a few albums now of various hounds, which you can open by selecting a title from the top of the page and then clicking on an image to start the slideshow.
I am still working on my technique for photographing dark-coloured dogs but have settled for the moody silhouette meanwhile!
I knew you wouldnt let her go as she fits in with your dogs so well and you have worked wonders with her. She has better recall etc than all the other dogs that we walk with!! LOL
Glad she is with you forever as she is such a sweetheart

I'm absolutely delighted for all of you! Lucy is a sweetie with lots of character and I loved meeting her at the Christmas Show. I'm so pleased that she's staying with you. Lucky girl!
Wonderful news. She's such a lovely dog and really won me over. I'll be happy to see her again for the rest of her life if you carry on coming to the dog walks on the beach :)
Well done, everyone. You certainly managed to guess that one pretty easily. Maybe I should have made it a bit harder...
Yes, Lucy has decided to keep us so we are now a 4-dog family and failed fosterers yet again. We just couldn't bear to let her go now. She is so full of life and our pack has settled down very well after some initial skirmishing. She and Twiggy are still sorting out the finer details of the home heirarchy but outside Lucy is in control and Twiggy can finally relax and get back to doing Twiggy things instead of feeling like she has to protect Indy all the time as she did before Lucy came along. Lucy will chase Malcolm around now without nipping his bum so he can relax as well. And Indy seems to be happier than she has ever been. All in all a happy family despite our resolution to limit ourselves to 2 dogs...
Lucy is fantastic at meeting other dogs, always cheerful and relaxed and the other dogs respond well to her. Our friend Heather who is a behaviourist taught us the "share nicely" trick when meeting strange dogs with a big group (we often meet up with other people in various walking places so there are often a dozen or so hounds out together but even with four dogs it can be difficult). Before the other dog comes close enough to be an issue we scatter low-value treats like kibble over the ground calling "share nicely" and all our dogs run from wherever they are to scavenge for the treats (wonderful thing competition!). As well as occupying the pack and distracting them from all approaching the new dog at the same time, the head-down posture is a calming signal and so the new dog is less likely to be frightened and start something. Often the newcomer will scout around the group, sniffing each dog in turn while they are occupied and so can join the group without stress. More nervous dogs can avoid us altogether without getting hassled. It has been a great method for our nervous girl Indy and prevents any eyeballing and body language that can lead to a confrontation (note to dave & Esther: this does not mean that we can take on another 8 dogs armed only with a pocket of kibble......) Sadly we now have four dogs who believe that they are called Sharenicely but at least they will respond to that even when they choose selective deafness when it comes to their own names...
I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT DID NOT THINK YOU COULD PART WITH HER SHE IS SUCH A POPPET, congratulations on becoming one big happy family I am so pleased for you all espacialy Lucy. Hope to see you all soon. Nora

Some lovely photos - and what a sweetie! Bet ur very tempted to keep her?! We used to foster dogs when we worked at Battersea Dogs home and it was sooooo tempting with some dogs! We resisted though. If we could afford it and had the time we'd have a housefull of dogs! (esp Greys!) Lucy has a real cheeky twinkle in her eye - very similar to Tilly! Good luck with her and we're sure she'll find a new home real quick.
