You probably saw my thread 'This really is Yuck' and I was becomming convinced that neutering could be a good idea. I just need to convince my other half and then we saw the post on Zac (yep, he is made for your family by the way, I'm sure Missy his other bookend agrees) about Maverick.
What happened to Mavericks personality after he was neutered?
"What happened to Mavericks personality after he was neutered?"
You should get your pooch neutered particularly if its a dog. Dogs can and usually have some disgusting habbits when they are unneutered. In Maverick's case he was an extremely dominant dog and to be quite honest I'm NOT entirely sure if the problems after his op were related to his operation. We had problems before the op and more after but that doesn't mean that the operation was at fault. In fact the incident took place about 2-3 weeks after by which time his hormone levels would really be unchanged after the op as it can take a few months for a dogs hormones to settle down properly.
I am ONLY puting caution to the wind. I personally don't think Zak will do the same as Mav did. I've had quite a few dogs neutered.... and all got through the operations fine without problems.
I honestly think that what happened to Maverick after the operation was something to do with his personality and became too confident with all four paws under the table and he took his chance and blew it.
PLEASE GET YOUR POOCH NEUTERED !
I am only being OVER-CAUTIOUS .... I would recommend to anyone to have their dogs neutered and thats also why Zak is going to get done on Wednesday.
THE BENEFITS OUTWEIGH the loss of the plums etc!
Go For It!
If you want a chat OFF-Line then you can email me here or at
itskyoung@yahoo.co.uk which we can discuss Maverick's exploit further - sorry for being vague but I really don't want to discuss the nature of the exploit on an open forum but would be more than happy to discuss off line.
I've just begged some old conservatory cane furniture and the dogs are loving it. Its funny to see a greyhound try and fit into a small space on one of the cane chairs. So you would have one greyhound on the sofa and one in the small chair looking rather uncomfortable but glad to be on the chair none the less just to prove a point.
Oh and Dave..... Zak and Missy match this cane furniture better than my sofa... What a bit of luck !!!
Does anyone else have the cute wot a life picture of their dogs to share?
If nothing else it will bring a smile and show any prospective greyhound owners what LAZY pooches they are.
What brilliant pics. The first one made me laugh out, the pics are definitely smiley ones And you are right Zak and Missy match the cane furniture perfectly too.
Everytime i pick up the camera when my two are snuggled up, one quickly looks up at me to see what I am doing then moves. so still waiting with camera in hand. I will post one when I eventually catch the moment.
Damn! just missed another opportunity of a photo - Zada and Saska cuddled up on one of the beds, Zada stretches her paw out and lays it over Saska, looks really cuddly and cute, then Saska sees me pick the camera up, looks at Zada then as quick as anything Saska's up and away. Arghhhhhhhh. I WILL get a pic I WILL.
Like the new avatar (there's no stopping you now is there?) I have some more pics to share but need to wait for a grown up -sorry teenager to help me... but they are always too busy! Em x
