Really sorry it hasn't worked out with Lady. I know you will have tried your very very best. It really breaks your heart to hand them over and you beat yourself up for ages afterwards. Remember though she has had a great home for a while and you worked really hard with her. I'm sure this will help her settle in with her new owners.
When we had to give Billy back to Joanne just having the support from everyone on this site helped to make it better for us. So keep your chin up.
Hi Landess, give yourself a pat on the back - you have helped a hound. I have not had to give up a foster dog, but I have heard that some others cope by thinking about their next foster - that sounds like a good way of thinking (there's plenty of them out there!) I think it will help meeting the new owners also.
Thanks Lita and Rhona you are both right and without this site I think I'd go mad somtimes.
Lady went off to her new home this morning and I cryed buckets. The family were lovely and have called to say she has settled well and is getting on really well with their other grey. They have changed her name to Mia and just hearing how well she has settled has made me feel alot better.
Sunny has returned to her pre Lady self. I think you were right Amanda she didn't enjoy sharing her mum but also her and Lady just didn't bond. My friend had her greyhound round for the day last week and Sunny had great fun playing with it and tearing round the flat that made me realise it was Lady she hadn't taken to. Her and Lady never played.
We are going to try and foster again but not straight away, saying that Dave might have other ideas!!!
Thanks for everyones support and keep all your fingers crossed Lady gets on well in her new home.
Landess and Sunny

Glad to hear Lady (Mia) has gone to new loving home. Hope she settles in well and that you can now help foster more dogs in the future. You have done a good job
