Twiggy (affectionately known as Piglet) was our first GAL dog. She's a lurcher of indeterminate parentage but seems to be a collie trapped in the body of a whippet.... We collected her from GAL at 8 weeks old and she had already spent a week in kennels after being found as a stray. She was just a tiny furry sack of bones and stench and was so hungry that she would leap into your plate from the floor. Now she is sleek and lovely with a thick and luxurious coat.
Twiggy has an alternate personality called Elvira, complete with mad staring eyes and lots of teeth, which takes over when she gets into the chase... If we walk somewhere exciting like John Muir we have to hunt her down like a wild animal as we cease to exist in any meaningful way to Elvira. The rest of the time though she is smart, sweet and very attentive so the trick is to catch her before she disappears after a hare or rabbit.
Twiggy has been working on our training for years now but is constantly disappointed by our inability to remember our tricks.
She is a stickler for politeness and is a little nervous (due to a long-term injury) about getting hurt by boisterous dogs so tends to lay down the law before any trouble starts. She was recently superceded as reluctant boss of the pack by Malcolm so is much more relaxed now. She and our foster dog Lucy are still vying for the 2nd spot as they are pretty well matched.

Love the pictures of Twiggy too! You must have a super catalogue of photos of all your dogs. But you really shouldn't have posted that first one of Twiggy as a pup! What a little sweetie - and even at that age she had her eyeliner and eyebrow pencil on! Just brilliant.
Dino - Twiggy's a real smasher! She looks very elegant, but in her last photo, she looks as if she's about to do something mischievous! I wonder what? Looks like you all had a great time in decent weather!
Got it in one, Christine! In the last one Ishe had just given me a beautiful "bear" (sitting upright and waggling her legs over her head) but the shutter was slow and so I just captured her looking peeved waiting for a treat!
