Hi , Just back from the vets with Cas, she has been sore and yelping when getting out of bed or climbing on and off couch for a few days now so decided to get her checked out. The vet thinks she may have pulled a muscle in her back legs or the may be some imflamation of her joints, so she is on anti- inflamatories for the next five days, if the symtoms continue she may have to go in for further tests. Lets just hope that it is something simple and she will be O K . I will let you all know how she gets on, she is feeling pretty sorry for herself and will not like lead rest. Thanks for listening. Nora

Here's hoping that Cas feels better very soon. Both of our two have arthritic aches and pains from time to time (Harry more so than Pearly) and it's rotten to see them feeling sore.
poor Cas - give a hug from me Nora ....Murph will be joining her in the feeling glum stakes tomorrow as he has been recruited to donate blood again at Glasgow Vet school - Im such a cruel mum....but if it saves the life of someone elses beloved dog then Im sure the sardines & icecream he will have waiting at home for him will take away any blues....
ps - had a cool day in Theatre today - I had to artificially breathe for an Iguana whilst if was being spayed (egg bound) - which meant squeezing the air bag every 20 seconds to inflate its lungs (also got to skin prep it for the incision and give it IM injections after ...whooopeeeeee I was so chuffed! although the catching & restraining of it before it was anaesthetized wasnt much fun as it wasnt very friendly to say the least - claws, whipping tail AND teeth to contend with! eeek)
HOW cool is this job!

Sorry to hear Cas is Poorly hopefully things will get better soon ,suzanne great tohear of your escapades in Theatre today . I work in a op Theatre too but unlike you our patients dont behave like yours (well not many ) Big hugs to Cas from Bovril who is suffering with arthritis in his front leg and knows just how she feels .
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who sent there best wishes to Cas, the tablets seem to be working as she is not so uncomfortable as she was, so here is hoping that she will not need further tests. Still on lead rest though which she does not like. Thank you all again. The vet has recommended cod liver once a week to keep the pld joints working, might try them myself. LOL. Nora

Glad to hear the tablets are helping Cas. I know how frustrating it is for them being on the lead as i went thru that with Millie when she was in season. (hopefully be able t get her spayed soon if her heart scan shows up better in March).
I give Toby 2 "supplex" tabs a day in his dinner, its green lipped mussle tablets and they work a treat for his stiff joints

Sorry to hear that Cas is unwell. As you know, I had a big scare with Angus over the new year period. It was heartbreaking to hear him in so much pain and see him unable to walk or stand properly. The vet had suggested that if he didn't improve it would be a series of tests and x-rays, but after a few days on anti inflamatories, pain killers and antibiotics he was brand new ( you saw him at gullane managing fine)
So try and not worry too much (easier said than done, i know) Cas is already making progress, fingers, toes, paws and legs all crossed that shes back to her cheeky self in no time.
Cas, is OK no ore test or being prodded the vets think she may have pulled a muscle and with the tablets and lead rest all is well. Thanks for all your support. Nora
