HOW YOU CAN HELP AND GET INVOLVED
Permalink Closed

Hi Folks and thanks for reading! The info below is how YOU can help GAL reach it's goal of raising £60,000 to build the countrys first Greyhound Sanctuary...

CAN COLLECTIONS

Okay so how dedicated are you all out there to raising some money? I’m looking for volunteers who are willing to stand outside a shop such as Petsmart with a collection can, a smile and their lovely happy dog(s) – or not - up to you.  Your time would be around 3 or 4 hours or whatever you could manage. Anyone who would like to volunteer just has to e-mail me with his or her preferred area and I’ll do the rest.  All help provided. Just think if 400 people did that for 4 hours each raising £50 per time we’d raise £20,000 in one year. Please email carolj@gal.org.uk for more information!

MISSION NOT IMPOSSIBLE

Up and down the length and bredth of Scotland over the course of the summer are Highland Games; the listings for which, can be found here:

http://www.albagames.co.uk/Highland_games2000.htm

Your mission, should you choose to accept it is quite simple. Get a few of your friends together, four-legged and two-legged, write to the organisers of an event near you and ask for a spot in the games for GAL. Once you have infiltrated the games, set up an information table to convert the masses, do a can collection and if you have enough goodies lying about your house, set up something simple and easy to run, like a tombola, which will bring in some cash for the kennel fund. A tub of sweeties for kids, a bowl of water and some scooby snacks work at treat at pulling in the punters.  Of course wandering around the site with a very cute dog and a handful of leaflets works wonders too!

It's really quite a simple task, which only really requires you to devote a little bit of time and minimal effort, yet it should help us on our way to that all important £60,000.  Added bonus of course, is that it's a pretty darn good day out.

Should you wish to accept this mission, please email carolm@gal.org.uk Now hopefully your computer won't self-destruct in 10 seconds!

ANY MORE?

You will be hearing from Tracey and Carol Jack frequently looking for inspiration, ideas and ongoing motivation!  Feel free to bombard them with any of the foregoing via e-mail - tracey@gal.org. or carolj@gal.org.uk You can also collor them at the monthly walks at Strathclyde Park, at Langbank Awareness Days or any other time you see them!

Remember we can't do this on our own and we will be looking for lots of great ideas from yourself, so please everyone get your thinking caps on!

We want to know about any events going on in your local area in the next year, (GALA days, Summer Fete's, Farmers Markets etc etc) tell us dates and times and if it looks like it could be a good fundraiser we'll supply bodies, literature and collecting tin!!

Who are all the dare devils out there?  We want loads of sponsorship ideas, who wants to climb a Monroe?  Cycle from Erskine to Dunoon?  Sit in a bath of baked beans!   Get the kids involved maybe a sponsored silence is just what you need after the Christmas madness!!! Send us in your ideas and hopefully we'll turn them in to reality and put a dent in that kennel fund!!
