When Harry and Pearly do a wee bit of training they go nuts. They work themselves into such a state of excitement that I can only sustain training for 5 mins - which isn;t really a prob - but they are panting heavily after it.
Is this the norm?
Poor harry - he has lethal front legs that thrash out and paw at anything when he's excited - could strip bark quicker than a deer!
Ivor tends to pant when we do training, shows he's enjoying himself but also shows he's using his brain! Not a problem but I'd suggest training one dog at a time with the other one in a different part of the house, might make them less excitable..
Should also point out I said 'less' excitable, nowt worse than a dog that 'switches off' during a training session, it's good to keep the tempo up a wee bitty!

This is so true...this happened to me when I took Mac to training...he just didnt want to know about training and just switched off much to my disappointment. Presley on the other hand just cannot get enough.....he is so happy when he is using his brain....!!
I agree that training is best done with the dogs separately. As our 2 are at different stages and at the moment doing both of them in the same room causes an excited confusion!!
