Bah, I blame the partitioning of the forum favourite vote, Blue was in a strong group, he could have been a contender.

Definitely Phil,

I feel we wuz robbed too, I spent many a time waiting for that perfect (well almost perfect) photo opportunity, I thought my Zada had it in the bag

This was Zada this morning

breaking her little heart

Okay, this wasn't taken this morning, its a photo you've seen before, but it's just how she looked when I told here the news.

Is the kennel fund site down? i was trying to get on to see who the winners were (to look at pics) but cant seem to get on.

commiserations, everyone says how cute Biscuit is, and at the end of the day, he just couldn't hack it.  Him being so young, I'm hoping his wee ego will recover!  Stiff upper lip and all that, it's the taking part....................... isn't it?


p.s. Biscuit is shredding a packet of tissues he managed to grab.......... I think he's blowing his nose and trying to hide his disappointment.

Baaah Humbug!!!!

We are having a strike tomorrow along with the workers. In protest of the fact that mum didn't have enough friends to vote hunners of times and help us win. Its just not fair.

TO ALL THE DOGS ON THE ONLINE PHOTO COMPETITION!!


Dear fellow rescue dogs,


Dont be upset if you didnt win a photo competition.....my Mum didnt even mange to get my photo in on time and me being soooo handsome, I would have won!   But you know what guys, I looked around me and like all of you, I have food in me tummy, fresh water to drink, a lovely comfy bed to lie in.........I never get hit if make a mistake and I'm not expected to run in circles to win a race either.  I guess my Mum is right when she looked at the pictures and said every RESCUE dog is a WINNER.  So congratulations all you fellow WINNERS out there.......xx

I gathered this is what had happened as some of the pics that i thought were defo in with a chance never got a look in and some that i thought were not as good seemed to get a very high vote

well, mum made me put on those pyjamas specially for the photo shoot and i did say .... does my bum look big in this?  she said not, but now i'm not so sure she was telling me the truth

Fantastic shot of Biscuit   Perhaps we should have a secondary competition of all the photos we've taken SINCE the show ended that would have won the day if only we'd had the chance ;)


Daz thinks he's won anyway because since the photo with the hat he's been allowed to 'borrow' Peter's Harley Davidson bandana again.  It just suits him to a tee ;)  I suspect a plot is in hand to justify Peter buying  a new HD bandana next time we're near the motorbike store


Congrats to the winners.  I can testify that even with Daz's famous US fanclub on his side it didn't swing him a win.

If there was another online photo comp, we'd have to make sure no one cheated and got all there friends and family to vote for the one dog as its a bit unfair on everyone else. It just ruins the fun for everyone.

Jennifer, I think that's harsh to be honest. I was helping to run the competition and the dogs that won didn't get many more votes than some of the other entries. A lot of people, I suspect, couldn't bring themselves to mark down the other entries and so only voted for the ones they really like.

I did put in checks so that people couldn't just sit and click over and over again (you all know you tried), but there's not much more I could do if we wanted a public vote. If we had just had the forum voting, then it would have been unfair to non-members.

Don't take away from the fact that all of the dogs were gorgeous, and all the winners were well deserved. I for one wouldn't like people to be accused of cheating when they won fair and square.

I for one tried to click repeatedly on my pics but there was no cracking the system. Boo!

No one cheated and I think it is unfair to the winners to suggest that.

I think some doggies simply had more supporters than others.

The amount of money raised is more important which was what it was all about after all.

Ziggy and Vernon have recovered from their defeat and haven't resorted to the Guinness just yet. So much for the luck of the Irish. Shamrock 2

If you cant voice your opinion on a public forum then what can you do? If they won fair and square then thats good and as i said before, congratulations

Folks, the bottom line here is there was 294 winners - and thats the dogs that took part, the majority of whom would be dead if it wasn't for GAL and the other rescue organisations both here and abroad that were involved in their homings. Every dog deserved a medal but sadly I only have 6 to give out and as they say on big brother 'the public have voted'..
