Came home from work to-day, expecting to be greeted as normal by Cas ( Sasha is kept in her dog cage when we go out ) no Cas, walked into the living room to find her looking very guilty in her bed . I looked around the room to find that the gift from my daughter for mothers day had gone, a 456 G box of milk chocolates.
Yes you,ve guessed it she had got them down from the window sill and scoffed the lot, quick drive to the vets, fortunatley the content of what ever addictive it is was very small 14% if it had been a rich dark chocolate the content could have been 80% which can be very dangerous. She is now to have no food for a day and kept quite and only taken out for her toilet, no running around. The vet told me she will have a thirst may become shaky and hyper, could be sick and will have diahorea , so I will have to keep an eye on her and make sure there is fresh water around. You don,t even want to know the calories that were in them.
A lesson to be learned, though she has saved my waist line for a little bit longer. Nora

I asked my son of 19 to get me a Yankee Candle for mother's day and my older son for some Marks and Spencer talc. The first time I have ever asked my boys for anything specific. But cannot trust myself with chocs!! And that is what they usually buy. Cas would have had a bit of a problem eating a Yankee Candle or the talc. So might be a good idea for the future!
My little whippet cross is not much of a thief unless she gets into the boys rooms as they are always leaving food about.
Hope Cas is feeling much better today and has suffered no adverse reaction to the chocs. Have made sure there is no choc in Tilly's reach - not that chocolate lasts long in our house! Tilly sends her love to Cas and Sasha too!
What a selfless act for Cas to eat all those chocs to save your waste line
Hope she is ok had has learnt her lesson. Blue send his sympathies after he ate a box of after eight mints still in their plastic wrapper. Strangly enough he left some of the chocs but ate the box and plastic
Cas must have the constitution of an ox. Apart from a little diahorea she has shown no other signs of ill effects, I am so relieved. Thank you for your kind words and advice LOL . Cas says Hi and promises she will not do anything like that again. Nora

When I was a kid our Springer spaniel Jess ate most of the easter eggs me and my sister were given in one sitting. She had got out of the kitchen while we were out. Thankfully she had no serious effects either. It is srange how they eat things that are so potentially bad for them. So much for animal instinct eh!
