In response to the suggestion that we give Tilly charcoal biscuits to help with the delicate issue of wind, we have noticed something a bit odd.
Certainly the wind has died down a bit (more a gentle breeze than a full-blown gale) but, um, there's no easy or polite way to put this, her poo is a rather shocking shade of, er, green.
This is only since we've started with the biscuits once a day, and it's not every time. It certainly doesn't seem to bother her at all, although it does sort of make your stomach turn when you go to pick it up!
Sorry for once again lowering the tone of the forum, but we wondered if anyone knew if this was a known side effect of charcoal biscuits, or whether it's something we should be more concerned about? Tilly is fine, her appetite is as good as ever, and she's been sleeping for 90% of the day, so everything's normal - apart from that!
dave and daisy get treats of chew sticks when we go out..... depending on the colour of the sticks, the poo comes out the same colour (we get green, red, yellow... yuk)!!! i really wouldn't worry about it, especially as everything else is normal for her.
I give Whoopie charcoal biscuits to help with the force 9 gale and yes thinking about it her poohs are green but she is happy and healthy so I'm not bothered
Yeah, my dog gets a charcoal biscuit at bedtime every night and her morning pooh is always greeny/black. Sounds normal.
They do help with wind and loose bowel movements though don't they? I was in a panic at the weekend when the pet shop ran out! Managed to get some elsewhere thankfully.
Next time you run out of Charcoal biscuits Pets at home do a huge 5kg box of them which Tilly is gradually working her way through! Glad it's not just us that has to suffer green poo!
