Well Kai has been with us and looking for that special home for a year now. We fostered him way back on 01/04/06. Great for us (getting to see his personality 'blossom' or should be erupt?! ) but sad that nobody has thought of him as the nicest addition their family could have. Its been an interesting roller coaster year at times but now he's just one o the gang.
Here is how he (and his best pal) spent his anniversary. (At the GAL walk)
I was actually just thinking about Kai the other day wondering how he was. Its such a long time to have to wait for a forever home, he's so lucky though that he's spent that time in a home with his fur friends and humans. I admire what you do, i can't seem to have a dog a week without deciding to keep it You'd be sad to see him go as he's now part of the family So take the OH hasn't said you can keep him then Love seeing pictures of him ..... keep them coming
It's so sad that he keeps getting overlooked although there seem to be quite a few on the Homeless pages that have been there forever. Believe me, if I could, I'd have at least another three. Sadly that's not an option.
At least he's in a happy environment and having a great time. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for him.
I know what you mean Jennifer and Isla, at least Kai has the luxury of waiting in a home and not in kennels. I feel sorry for Bandit and Branston too, do you think because they are long termers folk think 'must be something really wrong with them cos nobody else has taken taken, or to much hard work'? (and their not, just have more quirks too enjoy/work with!)
As for the OH, all he's said is 'hes (kai) not going to just anybody'. He loves him really!

Louise, Kai is soooooooo lovely, like all of your dogs, they are so happy and content, a credit to you and your family as foster parents. I wish someone could just recognise the fact that Kai can be such a lovely dog to live with........hopefully soon xx
What great photos of Dexter, Abbey and Kai! They're all so happy enjoying their holiday. I know what you mean about having Kai for a year now as a foster. We've had Dixie for a year now - and I can imagine the wrench it would be to me if she had to go to a new home after such a long time. She started off as a foster, but I failed (not so miserably) after one week!
Hope everything works out for the best for Kai - he's a gorgeous big guy!
Now enter Kai to the gang's domain........................
He has been great since he came home on Saturday and seems to be delighted to be in a hoose! House training he knows, sit and paw he knows and is desperate to play with ANY of the gang. Florence, Abbey and Dexter aren't so sure cos when Kai gets really excited he wants to them. (mainly Dexter tho , and he's havin none o it!) Water pistol at the ready!
He has been two walks and after the first wee panic he is fine. He looks around himself alot while the rest sniff, but once he settles/gets more confidence he'll be like the rest.
On the whole he is just a big pup, which makes us realise how mature Dexter can be!
Well after two false starts/being disappointed Kai has now found his forever home......................his, ahmm 'new' mum and dad know all about his 'issues' and Florence, Abbey and Dexter approve totally with his choice of family.
