Here's another event that's coming up on the GAL calendar.
On Saturday 6th May, there's a dog show in Linlithgow that GAL will be attending. I'll post times, etc. as I get them confirmed.
Again, I'm looking for people who can bring homeless hounds through from Eddie and Rachel's for the day.
Yes, I do realise it's a bit of a trek (before anyone posts that) but again, it is a great opportunity for us to get out and about and 'sell' the dogs and the best way of dong this is to actually have dogs there.
Please, please help us to do this and email me, CarolmGAL@aol.com if you can bring a dog through and we'll make arrangements.
There will be stalls at the entrance, so bring your purses/wallets as the GAL shop will be there. Also, there will be fun dogs shows for us all to enter our pooches into.
We're looking for a good turn-out at this one folks so even if you can't transport a dog there, please bring your own pooches and let's fly the flag for GAL.
I met someone in the park the other day and she was asking about Casper - her daughter is desperate for a greyhound and she was wanting to know all about him. I didn't have any GAL business cards on me (doh!) but I told her to come along to the dog show with her daughter. She already has two dogs and said she would come along, so fingers crossed she takes an application form home with her that day.
My dad is a black bitch, LOL. For those of you who don't understand the black bitch class in the show here's a link to explain http://www.englishalesbrewery.com/black_hound_stout_microbrew.htm All about a brave greyhound Surely a black greyhound bitch with an "I need a home" bib on could win that class! Linlithgow is over-run with fat labradors and I think will benefit greatly from some education about greyhounds. I am looking forward to it.

How interesting and surely no other type of dog should be allowed to win that class.
I doubt there will be any other greyhounds there, other than the GAL ones and if we have a black one then a GAL bitch should certainly win. Most of Linlithgow probably thinks the "Black Bitch" was a labrador, LOL, but the judges should know otherwise.

Okay we could subtly go round telling folk that it was a greyhound and not a labrador, give them a wee bit of there own history with the advantage of showing them how wonderful greys are and the people of linlithgow should all have greyhounds
Black greyhound fat retriever and homeless dug living in Linlithgow We have them all!!!!!!
Yes hopefully I can actually make it out the house and along to the peel. Genie will certainly be there and hopefully I will have the time to enter Erin.
Derek and I will be able to come to the dog show on Saturday, we will be bringing Cas and Sasha, should be there around 2pm. If you want us to take a homless hound round with us and have one spare we would be very willing. Could not manage to go to Eddies and Rachels as I am working till 1pm but more than happy to hold on to a lonely lead. Nora

You can park at the palace car park - but it isn't very big and parking is a BIG problem in linlithgow. Also there is a pay & display car park just down from the palace at the cross and hopefully you should get a space there.
See you later

It was a good day at Linlithgow today. The weather stayed predominately dry with a good turnout of people to the show and there was a good turnout of Greyhounds as well.
Well done to Carol and everyone else involved in todays activities.
We all met Annie a black and white gru..... what an ADORABLE girl.
Nice to see everyone at the show today. The homeless hounds were so well behaved Annie( tan one) Annie(black and white one) and Joey who was a real charmer. Sorry we could not stay longer but Cas was pretty freaked out with the balloons. Well done to everyone envolved, be back next year ? Nora
