First I would like to say a BIG BIG Thank you to everyone who helped today at Tesco . Fiona and Steve with Pearly and Harry, Phil with Blue, Suzanne with Maisie and Murphy and last but not least Lorraine. It was a very cold morning to start of, but the sun came out and so did the public. The people of Haddington and District were fantastic and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity and to Tesco for allowing us to do this worth while event.
I would like to announce that the grand amount raised for GAL is
£ 535.79
Thank you all Nora and Cas

What a result! The good people of East Lotian certainly have generous streak about a mile wide. As a reward for all his hard work, Blue had Smoked Salmon on his tea.
Well done guys, great result. Thats just over £1,100 raised in our first 3 Kennel Fund Can Collections, another few of them and we'll be building our kennels sooner than expected!...Remember folks if you want to arrange a can collection at your local store please get in touch with either Tracey tracey@gal.org.uk or Carol Jack carolj@gal.org.uk of our Kennel Fund committee and they will sort you out!
I've just heard that there is a mention in the East Lothian Courier about the can collection. I haven't read it myself, but from what my MIL tells me they seem to think that it was just me with Harry and Pearly at Tesco. I don't know how, given that I sent them a group shot with loads of us in it! It's great if GAL have a good mention, but that's not the point.
Like I say, I haven't seen it myself, but I am SO sorry if it reads that no-one else took part. It's certainly not how it was written when we sent the info to them, so I can only assume that they made up their own story.
I am sure no one will mind, as the purpose of the can collections is to contribute to the kennel fund and raise awareness of greyhounds, GAL and its aims, which is what everyone involved achieved - self promotion is not the issue So there should be no reason for you apologising.
