What! - Don't tell me Dave was being serious about all volunteers setting themselves on fire

Bibs would be okay for me (cheap and obvious), but then when you get to my age according to teenage daughters "arsieness" is the norm.

When will the decision be made?  Joyce

Hi Joyce, the committee is mulling things over at the mo, we're keen to go with the consensus here. The red T-Shirt and Hoodie combo seems to be the favourite idea, at a rough price we'd be paying about £20 per volunteer for these and thats at cost from the company who does all the other GAL clothing. We'll make a decision soon.

As an aside we're also in the process of developing a GAL Volunteer course which, once complete we'd be looking at all potential volunteers to complete before they get their 'uniform' (so get swatting!)..

Excellent idea about the course.
£20 isn't bad and I'm sure many folk would be willing to pay it.

Ditto on that from me!

I'm with Esther and Julie and everyone else who suggested that it must be something which can be worn over jackets.

T-shirts, sweatshirts etc., are fine in the summer (rain permitting) but I have spent many freezing Saturday afternoons at Milton clad in top, woollen sweater, scarf, gloves and waterproof jacket.  A sash or bib would go over the jacket, but there is no way on earth that I would have considered spending the day without my jacket in order to be identified.

I will have my GAL t-shirt on at the GUVMA rodeo and am hoping for fine weather like last year so that it is visible.

Sashes are fine - we wear them at events as SSPCA fund raising volunteers.  As Dave says - they are easy to hand out and take back in at the end.

I am sure we have plenty of dashing male volunteers who would continue to look macho in a sash!
