Ok Folk - Here's a note for your diaries - Our second regular monthly EDINBURGH dog walk will take place next Sunday (30th April) at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh.
We had over 40 hounds turn out for the first walk last month, but plenty room for more visitors this month!
There's no fixed plans for the event, just lots of hounds walking round the park.
WHERE: Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, meet in the St Margarets Loch Car Park (thats the Meadowbank end of the park!)
WHEN: Sunday 30th April @ 12 noon.
Your 'hosts' for the Walk will be myself (Siouxsie Parry GAL's follow up co-ordinator) and Carole Robinson, we'll be present in the car park between 12 - 2 to greet everyone.
Hope everyone has a great time!
If you need further info on our Edinburgh Walks please email me - siouxsie@gal.org.uk
Sorry. Timmy, Eion and I will not be able to make this one. Hope it all goes well and hopefully we will be joining everyone at Holyrood at the end of May.
Meant to mention this in the first post, just a little reminder (I know the majority of folk know this) but for any newbies:
This is the 'official bit' - As this is an official GAL Event ALL dogs must be kept on lead, no bitches in season are allowed and if your dog requires a muzzle please ensure they wear one.
We'll not make the walk this month - much as I'm still desperate to see big boy Morse!! I have a friend visiting at the weekend. Ordinarily I'd just bring her along but she lives in Edinburgh anyway so it'd be like rushing her back home more quickly than I'd planned.
Hope the weather stays like it is at the moment, and looking forward to seeing some piccies.
Ooh Fiona was looking forward to catching up And I had flap jacks just for Steve Not to worry have a good weekend and hope i catch up with you both at the next walk.

Had a lovely time on the walk although we didn't get far - just far enough to get ice creams YUM Blue did a fine job of showing off his sitting skills to earn his.
Morse is a fantastic dog huge and very bouncy he had me rolling with laughter as I saw him boinging along
A Huge Thank You goes out to everyone that turned out today . The weather kept nice and dry for us all with blue skies.
On my last count we had 30+ dogs and as you will see from the pictures (which I will post later ) all looked like they had a good walk today. Lots more enquiries with folk taking application forms away (so fingers crossed).
Morse was looking ab fab, he really is a big cuddly bear who has got so much love to give
Big thanks to everyone who organised today's Edinburgh Walk. I know it's all about raising awareness and all that - but we had a really nice day with some really nice folk
Think we might have a few converts though - here's hoping.
Really enjoyed todays walk Can you believe i got sunburnt . It was great to see so many people and we got stopped loads while going round on the walk and gave out lots of cards.
Amanda it was great to see you and family ( especially Harry and his fast shoes ) Don't blame you heading off for icecream I might join you next time We need that icecream van to park further round the walk, or meet us at the top of the hill
It was great to catch up with everyone, and meet lots of new faces (human and hound).
Thank you Carol for letting me walk Rosie, she was adorable and very well behaved You nearly never got her back
Hope to see you all at the next one.

er.... We actually turned up today but arrived and drove round Holyrood park twice and stopped at every car park but couldn't see a grey in sight!!! Then I realised we must have arrived at the wrong time - 11.00am. I hadn't checked to see what the meeting time was .... doh!! However, we stopped at the furtherest away car park, and the dogs were really keen to get out and get going. So off we trekked round & up a very steep rocky hill, but we really enjoyed it and it certainly was a different walk to our usual. On leaving the park we didn't pass by the other car parks due to the one way road system.
Pity we missed everyone, but we'll be along east again soon hopefully
Here's some of our pics:-
Me & Tyler stopping for a breather
Max having a rest
Me & Tyler enjoying the view (but only half way up!)
I had wondered what had happened to you today. Loved the photos, I'm sure you must have went the way Landess & I went one day, great scenery but what a hike.
The route everyone takes on the Edinburgh Walk is a lot more leisurely and there was coffee/tea and biscuits at the end.
You have to come back soon, definitely at the right time .
And as you so rightly pointed out... it is a brilliant park!
Super photos and great views, John and Lita! It's just a pity you missed the walk, but never mind, you've got some really excellent shots and there's always next month!
