my mother is dispairing at the ever increasing number of brown crop circles appearing in her back garden from Miss Maisie. Obviously we want to keep visiting - especially in the summer as they have a huge lawn for the dogs to career around.
Does anyone know of anything that you can put on the lawn to protect the scortching from a bitches urine?? (Murfs safe as he wee's on the flowers & mum doesnt appear to have noticed that 1/2 of them are now dying....eeek!! ssssshhhhhh )

Not sure of anything you can put on the lawn, but what did stop it from happening in my garden was putting some tomato juice in Zada and Saska food/water and alas brown/yellow crop circles stopped.

Siouxsie - is this fresh tomato juice?? Sounds like a great idea as our grass is turning brown with tilly's wee, that is the little grass that she hasn't churned up when tearing round like a lunatic!
i use between 1 1/2 - 2 tablespoons every second day in their food, but it is easier to dilute it in with their water, but because they sometimes drink up each other water i put out then one of my dogs could get too much.
Also, I would recommend before giving our pets something that is not made for their consumption that it is always best to give the **vet a quick phone call just to check it is okay for each individual dog.
** I have to say I have an excellent vet that does not mind talking to me on the phone, if I ever have a general question
They way we deal with it is to water the spot after the event and it dilutes the urine, as said before me. I always keep a can topped up in the summer. Nora

Wow must give the Tomato juice a try . We dont have a garden but Sunny always pees on the same patch of grass just across from our house and I was noticing the other day that it was getting very yellow?

You can buy a spray that you use on the grass once you've seen them do it - it works quite well. You can get the stuff from most garden centres and probably pet stores.
Encourage your mum to get a wee (pun!) corner of bark in the garden and train them to go and do their stuff there - quite easy to do.

It's called Lawn Rescue and it's pretty good. I've even used it to spray the plants and bushes that Harry occasionally widdles on when he doesn't quite make it to their potty corner.
Take your dog to the area you want them to use (on lead - can make this easier!) and everytime he/she/they does the deed in the right place then treat/praise.
After the mention in another thread about Tomato sauce/juice i then went and had a hunt on the web to see if I could find info to back up my earlier advice on tomato juice.
Great site Siouxsie, has good tips for bad dog breath and natural flea treatment. Althought the natural flea treatment (clove of garlic in food every day) might cause dog garlic breath

I'm not going into the whole flea treatment thing again. Sometimes we just have to accept that people do things different to us and that there may be more than one right answer to how do do things.
I had only mentioned the garlic dog breath in jest I doubt Sunny would eat it anyway.
Can I just say though that I use Garlic every day for our pony. Last week we ran out of garlic and I thought I'd try Seaweed supplement instead. Today my pony is sporting horrible big fly bites. So scientific or not for me there is something about garlic that keeps flies and beasties away. But thats only what I think and I let others make up there own minds

Sorry Jennifer I only mentioned garlic because of a bit on the site about dog bad breath
I stick by my original post I think its a good site with lots of good bits of advice. I'm going to give the Tomato juice a try before the council give me a bill for the large brown patch of grass across from my flat
