Two lurchers (probably whippet cross) found at the weekend - April 29th / 30th - in Springhill Road near Walton Dam, Barrhead (half-way between Newton Mearns and Neilston). Finder has the dogs and is currently trying to find them their owner.
They seem to be mother and pup; both tan coloured (the pup a deeper tan than mum). Mum's age is a bit difficult to tell but she's over 5; pup about 5-6 months.
They are both very biddable ladies, healthy, well fed, no physical evidence of ill-treatment. Pup is a little timid. Mum has a couple of bumps and scrapes on paws/legs, presumably from crashing thru bushes, etc. They have a definite penchant for chasing rabbits, which is perhaps how they've come to be lost in the first place. Neither was wearing a collar.
Reported to Barrhead and Giffnock police stations; scanned at Giffnock but they are not micro-chipped. Signs put up around Neilston Pad, as there are lots of dog walkers up there and they may know of someone who's lost their dogs, or can help spread the word.
