Maisie is an absolute credit to you and to GAL. The montage is beautiful - although Murphy doesn't look altogether ecstatic being in it! It is almost impossible to believe that the dog at the start of the sequence is the same dog as the one at the end. We met Maisie for the first time at the John Muir walk on Easter Sunday and she is adorable - Murphy too, of course - and it is hard to believe what she has been through in the past. Shame you can't persuade one of the TV channels to show the montage in one of the ad breaks...........
Suzanne I don,t know what to say that was amazing. I am in tears here. Thank you for sharing that with us. It shows what can be accomplished with any dog from any sort of background if given the chance and lots and lots of loving care. Nora

Well done to GAL and Suzanne for giving Maisie a life free from abuse and misery. I met Suzanne and her lovely dogs on Saturday at the Rodeo and I was fighting back tears as Suzanne outlined some of Maisie's history. People can be just so cruel it is beyond belief!
I emailed the link & some blurb about the kennel fund, needing all the advertising we need etc etc to all the TV companies I could think of last night & i have a mate who is a cameraman for STV (& LOVEs my two dogs) doing some digging to see if the montage could get some free air time....
who knows....
keep all toes & fingers crossed....
the montage was easy to do - time consuming tho, but Im sure GAL could do their own one too inc pics of abuse etc & sell it for money/email it to every company/sponsor we know to get them to pass it on - even post it on the main webpage for all to see etc - you cold do so much with it really & make it look far more professional than mine.

I feel that I'm very much repeating what the others have said. I'm sitting here with the tears pouring down my face. It truly is heart-wrenching to see that poor wee soul at the beginning. It's inconceivable how cruel some people can be. To my dying day, I will never understand how someone can look into the soulful, brown, trusing eyes of any dog and hurt and abuse them (or any animal for that matter). Heartless - they must be to be able to inflict that kind of hurt and damage!
What a credit to GAL and you though. She looks fantastic now and the photos and footage of her are wonderful. She actually reminds me a bit of my Millie - very similar colouring and face. Was Maisie at Langbank on that very hot day last summer for the wee show? There was a Maisie there that won a class, shewas on the mend but had a ways to go. If so, then I remember pleading desperately with my partner to let me take her home. What a lucky wee dog though - she has a wonderful home and life now and is obviously thriving and loving every minute.
hi suzanne well wot can i say.that was wonderfull from then till now.wot a great job uve done with her shes looks very much loved and happy now wot a difference a yr makes.
Suzanne, your montage is lovely. Although I know Maisie's history and have seen the pics before, it still hits hard - right there!! I'm so glad you have Maisie and can re-tell her story to so many.

What a good memory you have Karen! that was indeed Maisie - she won "best youngster" at the 2005 Hot Dog show that I had the pleasure of taking her to - it was also on that day that I decided that I couldnt let anyone else take her home but me....sorry !

I understand that you would like to share your experience will GAL in order to raise the awareness of the charity.
We receive many hundreds of requests for charity help each year. Because the BBC is a public corporation, financed by the licence fee, its income must be used for broadcasting or closely associated purposes. If we were to oblige any one of the huge number of requests we receive each week, it would set a precedent which we would not be able to maintain. For this reason, we regret we must turn down such requests.
Nevertheless, please be assured that I have noted your suggestion and made it available, through our daily log, to our programme makers and senior BBC management. We greatly appreciate all correspondence from our audience's and your suggestion may play a part in future programme making decisions.
I have also forwarded your e-mail onto Scottish Planning department who deal with possible news stories in Scotland.
May I wish you and Maisie all the very best in the future and thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience.
Best wishes

Hi Folks, just to make a quick point here...GAL have an ongoing team of fundraisers who's sole purpose in life is to do exactly what Suzanne has done, it's difficult for an animal charity to get any publicity these days unless a dead dog is produced, the more brutal the death the better.
Through our carefully timed press releases and with the help of our unofficial PR man Steve we've made a few good inroads recently with our relationship with the press, this includes the TV companies, just look back at the launch of our kennel Fund in January and the impact that had in the media. The lesson we've learned with the press is essentially 'less is more', by inundating them with copy and stories the GAL name becomes less focused.
In addition our fundraisers have also embarked on a campaign to write or speak to all the Greyhound related celebs on this planet in an attempt to blag goods and services from them, we're making some inroads in this aswell, the items and services we've managed to get will form some sort of Kennel Fund 'event' in the course of the next few years. People who've already been contacted include Paul O'Grady and the Simpsons people, in fact if memory serves we asked Paul to be a judge at one of our events.
My point here is good work, but, remember the big picture and speak to a GAL committee member first...
On the subject of celebs, I read in a recent Will Young article that his idea of heaven would be to have a house that he can fill with "chickens and rescue greyhounds". Not in the same room, no doubt!
I wonder if it's worth putting Will on the blagging list?
