Eddie arrived 24 hours after Sonny left, you guys are so efficient!
He's so much smaller! And so cute! Not sure how old he is; Dave said he was 3 but his SPCA papers say 5 or 6?
Anyway, he's here and remarkably settled, no crying, no accidents overnight, and no howling when I had to leave him today to go pick up tummy friendly dog food.
He's made himself at home already, and is very affectionate.
He's quite energetic too, so Sky will be glad that she can resume those longer walks that Sonny refused to go on.
I have a small problem with his behaviour when we meet other dogs.. (see training section) but hopefully we'll be able to do something about that.
Well done you another dog going to find it,s forever home with your help. You did not waste any time and Eddie looks adorable. Good Luck with his little problem and please keep us up-dated.

Hi Vicki, yeah 24 hours was pretty good going, needs must in this time of few good foster homes!
Eddie is def 3 years old, don't have his exact DOB but by his tattoo's he's 3 at some point this year. Never get the SPCA to age your dog, they aint too clever at it!!..
Well done, Vicki for taking Eddie on so soon after Sonny! He looks gorgeous - and so settled. Looks like your couch never got cold! Let us know how he's getting on.
Eddie just wants cuddles.... he's so lovely with visitors and all my kids friends. .
We've made quite a lot of progress since last week.
His tummy has now settled down, so no more dashing out to the toilet within 20 minutes of eating dinner. I was beginning to think he had the fastest digestive system ever.
He's been good around other dogs when out walking too.
However, he does have an odd liking for fruit! He pinched a banana out of the fruit bowl but didn't manage to peel it, then he this morning he stole an apple and ate the whole thing!
Florence is partial to an apple as well, Dexter likes nuts, raisins, grapes.....ok everything (can you tell he was a stray?!). Where as Abbey ain't huvin none of that
Toffee (ferret girl) ambushes you for a bit o your apple if she gets a whiff........

Harry loves fruit too! Apples, bananas, cherry tomatoes. He's also taught Pearly how to appreciate a nice juicy apple, cos she never used to eat them before we got Harry. Funnily enough, he only likes Royal Gala apples. I gave him a Macintosh Red the other day and he spit it out. Bearing in mind that his other nickname is "Gutbucket", this was a highly unusual happening!
In the 'Diet and Nutrition' part of the forum, there is a list of Food that Poison Pets started by Glendy. I have made it a sticky so it is at the top of page one.
Many of the mentioned foods on the list would have to be taken in excess, but we still should always be cautious where these foods are concerned with our pets.
Yeah, read that bit. Wasn't meaning anything other than having a wee reminder for folk about certain foods.
Sorry if you thought otherwise. I understand completely when you mentioned the pinching/thieving tactics of Dexter, I have had a hound in the past that was a master at it
I didn't know grapes were toxic to dogs its one of the things Sunny goes mad for. Mind we only give her one, maybe once or twice a week. Good to hear that other dogs like fruit and its not just my mad hound.
Will have a look at that list Siouxsie, thanks.
Eddie looks lovely and very happy on your couch

Eddie is making so much progress, he's doing really well!
He was getting really distressed if I had to leave him alone (even if I was in another room) but we have finally sorted that out. If I have to go out now, he gets confined to the hallway, and seems to feel much more secure without having the whole house to wander round in. So no more little presents waiting to be stepped in, when I get back! just a much more relaxed and less clingy Eddie.
He's also doing really well with other dogs now too.
Now if I can only find some way to make bananas less attractive.....
Great news that Eddie is getting over his separation anxiety! It's so common and can be difficult for some dogs to overcome, but I'm sure Eddie is now feeling so much more secure.
Aww, hes gorgeous. Well done for taking on another grey soo soon after Sonny!!
The videos really nice and the ending is great, but when I watch it every few moments I had to go back a few seconds as it kept stoppingSo it took a little longer than 1:07 to watch, any ideas why it stops like this? Its lovely all the same, and the music fits really well
Its working now!! Dont know why it didnt the first time.
Eddie looks so relaxed on the sofa with his new friend. Hope it all goes well, and Im sure he wont be with you for long. Whether thats a good or a bad thing is up to you!!
How did you make a video like that? I would really like to make one, but only have a camcorder on my digital camera. Do you have to pay to join the website??
