Just wanted to show you all some pics of my first foster dog Dan. He met my 2 a couple of weeks ago and got on well with them and Jasper. He arrived last night and has settled well. There's the odd quiet whine but nothing compared to Vernon when he came. Just getting used to walking 3 dogs at once which will take a bit of getting used to! Anyway here he is. Very handsome boy. I believe he is 10 but Dave may have more info on his history etc.
Dan will be 10yrs old on the 8th of August this year, as you see from the piccies he's White & Dun in colour....Dun is a fairly unusual colour for a skinny and as you can see he looks lovely. I guess Dan is a result of GAL's great follow up service and how we like to keep in touch with you guys. Dan was thrown out of a car window, picked up by the local dog warden then handed to GAL for re-homing, this was 7 years ago, sadly due to a major change in his famlies circumstances he's now been returned to us. He's dogsafe, kidsafe and catsafe and having lived as a pet for 7 years is well used to those home comforts so fingers crossed I can find a new home for him soon...
Dan's 3rd day now and its like he's always been here. Its like sleepy hollow with all 3 of them dozing. So far I won't have seen his full personality but he is very affectionate and does the head under the armpit thing to get a cuddle.
He loves his walks and is good on the lead. We have encountered numerous dogs in the past few days and he has been great with all of them big and small, although I think he actually prefers small ones as he gets happy when they come up and greet him.
I get quite a bit of attention in the park with 3 of them ranging from 'Look at they 3 big dugs wi that lassie' to 'Aren't they beautiful dogs'. I'm getting a 'I need a Home' vest for him and some GAL business cards so if I get some interest I can spread the word.
Looking forward to seeing his personality come out and I'll keep updating the info.
Dan's lovely, Jenny! Good for you to foster him! I hope he finds his forever home very soon. Hope to meet him (and you, Ziggy and Vernon) at one of the GAL events in the summer! Jasper must be quite bemused at his steadily growing family!!
What fantastic news. I am so pleased that Dan has found a forever home he deserves it. Well done you for fostering him and giving him the chance to get his forever home.
