The man responsible for Amber's neglect should have been banned from keeping animals for life! He has proved that he has no sense of responsibility to a dog that depended on him for food, water and shelter, so things are unlikely to change in five years' time when he can get another dog!

Thank goodness Amber was found in time and is now enjoying all the comforts of a good home.

I was absolutely mortified to read that article & to see the pictures in the Daily Record.

The owner should of been thrown in a cell, keys thrown away & made to starve.

How anybody could treat animal like that is beyond me !!!
What did poor Amber do to deserve that.
If he couldn't of cared & looked after her, then there are places he could of handed her into, but no he went the cruel way & left her to starve & then eventually she would of died.

It really makes my blood boil

was that not the one from an earlier news article and thread on the forum about the bloke who had depression and thought the dog was being fed and he got the dog from the greyhound trust think it was then i could be wrong,all the same he should be given a taste of the treatment he gave to poor amber.hope shes happy in her new home.

£690 and banned for 5 years?...... when are the courts going to start taking animal cruelty seriously?

What would the sentence/fine have been had he done this to a child or an elderly person?

Trouble is it's not always the Court's fault - the Sheriff/Judge's hands are often tied by the law set down by the elected Government.

If we want things to change then it's the Politicians who have to be pushed into action.
