Pearly would have been a shoe-in for the Best Biscuit Catcher if we were going. She's really remarkable. Poor Harry doesn't quite have her eye, bless him.
I used to live in Motherwell next to the park - yes you can walk down from the station to the park in about 10-15 mins depending on how fast you walk It's downhill all the way -
you come out of the station and turn right at the main entrance and just walk in that direction down the hill on the same side of the road- you will pass a Jet petrol station at the bottom just past a mini roundabout - keep going and the park is just a couple of minutes from there. The watersports centre is near the entrance so you will see it as you enter from that side of the park.
It's not a bad walk from the station but there is also usually a taxi rank. Anyone there will know how to get to the park if you get lost. I am manning a stall there otherwise I would come up and get you - good of you to make the journey for the day.
It's definately within walking distance and should take no more than 15 minutes, I'd say. It is also a straight road and really not difficult to find. When you come out of the railway station at Motherwell turn right and then right again. That is your last turn until you get to the traffic lights at the park which you'll see in front of you. From there it is just straight and it's all downhill which is a help.
Hope to see you there.
Joyce
PS Just noticed that the directions have already been given. Never mind you'll not get lost now!
Big thanks to everyone who has posted and pm'd me directions, they have been a great help. Will definately be there but possibly without Neo since he's a wounded soldier, but with any luck he will be well enough to make it.

Sounds really good Dave, I'm looking to buy a new house collar for Rosie, so we'll be at your stall!
Hi Folks, well, just back from the GALa, what a brilliant day! The place was mobbed, I haven't counted the money or counted the applications but there's loads of both!
Huge thanks to everyone who helped out at 8:30am this morning and through the day, couldn't have done it without you! Huge thanks to everyone who turned up, hope you all had a great day. I'm off for beer and pizza, will post more later! Couple of general piccies and also one of homeless Louie which caught my eye below...
What a great day - glad you had lots of enquiries for the homeless dogs and hopefully we have raised loads of cash too.
I think the venue is perfect for us as there are so many people visiting the park at the weekend. I have two more definate volunteers for the Scottish run team and two who are considering walking the course and will confirm to me later - so that's fantastic.
It was lovely to meet up with GAL members and volunteers too.
Thank you to everyone at GAL who organised and managed the event today. Afraid we were amongst those who turned up rather than helped out! We (including Tilly) really enjoyed ourselves and it was fantastic to see so many greyhounds, lurchers and whippets (plus assorted others) all together in the one place, getting on so well with each other. We were particularly struck by how quiet it was (in the lack of sound sense, not lack of people).
All in all it was a great advert for GAL and for greyhounds in general. Here's hoping all the applications prove successful and that plenty was raised for GAL.
How could anyone who attended the event not want to take on a greyhound or lurcher?
