Despite miserable weather our GAL team did us proud.

A HUGE thank you to all those who ran the 10k and again to those who ran the half marathon to raise money for GAL.

GAL volunteers were there to cheer them on with both Banjo and Brodie in attendance to let the spectators know what 'running for your life' and GAL is all about.

An extra special mention for Scooby Doo aka James Smyth who after completing the 10k ran straight back around to the starting line and ran the Half Marathon too. I can't imagine the extra weight he must've been carrying wearing a very wet Scooby Doo outfit. What a hero.

You should all be proud as punch with your achievement today.

Denise

We did have a great day despite the rain.

I have posted a few photos on my blog - and more will follow of the team once I receive them.

Will let you know the total amount raised as soon as possible but it is likely to be in the region of £1600 + from what I know so far

It was great to have the support of the volunteers at the finish line too - so thanks very much to everyone who was there for that.

Well done to you all

Can't wait to hear the final total as it really is looking like a fantastic amount has been raised and i'm sure it will help ease those aching legs. Hope you all have your feet up with a well earned drink in your hands.

Congratulations and well done to everyone that took part.  What a fantastic effort and it might just shame me into getting fit again.

Well done everyone who ran! Especially Scooby Doo for doing it all twice.

Big thanks also to Lorna for getting everyone organised and doing such a great job of that.

Hope you've all had a well deserved hot soak and a few beers.

Hi there -

Thought you would like to know the revised total - (although we are still waiting on a couple of donations to come in).

The total raised to date is £2,426.00!!

I think with the other donations we will make the £2500 mark

James Smyth who ran as Scooby Doo raised a fantastic amount of £900 which I collected today !

Anyone fancy dressing up as a greyhound for the marathon

Well done all of you!!  That's an amazing (and absolutely brilliant) achievement.  Now I'm definately going to be shamed into getting fit again!  Not sure about the dressing up as a grey idea though!
