Hi Folks, well this is a 'by popular demand' type of post! You've all by now read about Viv's training classes specifically designed for Greyhounds and Lurchers and a number of you guys have expressed an interest in attending but just can't make it to Cambuslang every Thursday evening, well here's your chance!!
Viv will be holding a 1 Day training workshop in Cambuslang on SUNDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER from 10am - 4pm. The one day workshop will condense the novice training course which Viv has been running for the last 18 months. All work will be carried out using a 'clicker' and items covered will include STAY, RECALL, TARGET WORK, LEAVE IT, DOOR MANERS, PULLING etc etc..time permitting there will be a Q&A session at the end!
Spaces on the workshop are extremely limited so early booking is advised!
The cost of the day will be £50 per dog, each dog in attendance will receive a free copy of Viv's excellent 'Greyhound and Lurcher Pet Training Guide'.

Hi Dave, we attended this workshop yesterday with Sunny and had a really great day. We have found something that has lit a spark in Sunny so to speak. She loved the clicker training, being very food orientated this type of training seems to suit her and she was quick to learn. Since comming home we have practiced a few times and Sunny just seems to love it.
We really enjoyed the training day. The dogs (and owners) were all really tired at the end but I'm sure the others who attended will agree it was worth it.
Viv has said she would be happy to do another training day for those who can't make the weekly training classes (classes held in Cambuslang). We would definatley recommend it.
Anyone interested should contact Viv or Dave.

I also attended this workshop with Casper and I thought it was great. We were all exhausted afterwards, but it was certainly worth it. I have been practicing the target work since we returned and Casper is over the moon when I get out my little treat bag and clicker. The recall relay is also just amazing - I have never had Caspers full attention when out in the garden with him. He is usually digging or prancing about not quite knowing what mischief to get up to, but now with this great game to play he is focused on me and is so happy with himself.
I would recommend Viv's classes or workshops to anyone who hasn't been, they are really worthwhile.
Jane

These classes really do sound great, i'm starting to think they might even be worth the trip from Dundee, especially for Neo because he can be quite head-strong sometimes and tends to push the boundaries a bit. Might look into giving them a go since you both seemed to have enjoyed them so much.
We also took Daz to Viv's workshop on Sunday and we all had a great time. Daz had already done some very basic clicker training with me but it was a bit blind leading the blind and it was great to see the lessons in Viv's book "come to life" and learn how to do it properly. He loved it, his tail was wagging continuously but was really tired afterwards- he's not used to being awake all day and the afternoon session really ate into his siesta time!
