Harry's going grey!
Permalink Closed

I hadn't really realised how grey Harry is getting around the muzzle and his gorgeous face till I looked back at some piccies of him from March 2005, just before he came to live with us. Check out these Before and After shots....

It's around his eyes that I really notice the difference. He's still just a baby, at only 4 years old. I wonder if it's the stress of living with princess Pearly that's aged him prematurely!

Tell me, when did your greys start to go grey?

Fiona

ps: doesn't he look happy in that second piccie?

Harry at one of the Strathclyde walks, March 2005. Barely a grey in sight.

Harry at the Hot Dog Show in Edinburgh, July 2006. Distinctly salt-and-pepper!

Hi Fiona

Dexter is the same, he will be for in September but his muzzle has 'lighted' up since we got him, jings three years ago! He has to put up with two princess or in our case one boss and a  grumpy auld mare! Then again must work both ways, cos Abbey and Florence are both gettin very grey havin to live with Dexter and his new mental pal Kai!

My new mantra- wrecked hoose, happy dugs.....wrecked hoose, happy dugs........

Anyway Harry just looks more distinguished!

Billy will be 7 in August but he is now looking about 12 it's strange how some go grey at a young age. Maisie on the other hand is 10 but looks about 2

Our Caspar's the same.....he is a ( gorgeous ) blue and didn't have a speck of white or grey in his muzzle when he came home to us 4 years ago ( he is now 6 )

but now !!

He is almost entirely white !!

He says it is the stress of living with a mean Ma and Pa who don't feed him enough treats such as Greggs sausage rolls  and having to share a bedroom with an old girl (our Moll ) who at 11 is getting a bit "windy"

But he's still our beautiful boy!  even though he has now decided to take over the spare rom and adopt our good sleeping bags as his new bed!!

Yes, Harry looks very different now.  He looks wary in his 1st photo, but more relaxed in the 2nd photo.

Max also is 4 years of age now and has been rapidly turning white/grey around the face & even on his legs.  I think the extra white hairs add so much character - and I just love the wee white eyebrows!!

He is gorgeous and looks a lot more relaxed in the second piccy.... I have a theory on this as I had Charlie and Tiger and Charlie was always the boss, as Tiger entered our home Char got more and more grey hairs especially on his muzzle and face. We lost Char and enter Chad yes you've guessed it, this time Tiger got greyer and greyer as he assumed dominent position (and he was still young) He was only 8 when we lost the poor wee mite.

I call it silver- back- syndrome, in our family it seems to be the boss hound (just like the silver-back gorrillas) goes grey. In any case all greyhounds are destined to go grey thats why they are called greyhounds! lol! Em x

Neo is 5 now but he only has a tiny bit of grey under his chin, I suppose it's no different than people going grey at different ages and you don't notice the changes when you see them every day because it's just so gradual.

I think Harry looks very distinguished and he really suits the salt and pepper look

Millie has started a tiny wee bit going grey on her muzzle and she's just turned 3!

Tilly is was fairly grey when we got her and she was only 3 and a half. Though think it stands out more on her coz she is black.  Am sure she's got a tiny bit greyer since we got her - must be the stress of sleeping for 23 hours a day and being spoilt rotten!

It's interesting that you think he looks more relaxed - that's the first thing that one of my workmates said when she compared the two piccies.

Grey greys are greyt! And I love the mantra "wrecked hoose, happy dugs". Sounds like our place too!

I think he was dyeing it before - to make the best impression on his new adoptive owners.

Now that he has his toes happily under your table - he no longer has to pretend and has put away the Grecian 2000!!!!
