Just to say dear Lenny, whom I adopted from SSPCA through GAL on 24th Feb 2000, turned 11 years young on the 26th July. Hoping for a few more years yet. Still no couch potato and enjoys a good sprint!
Our Patsy's ten in November (only had her five months). She's always first to the door for her walks and still enjoys a good old run around the hills. The oldies are the best.
Rhona (a woman of a certain age, who can just about manage the hills!!).
Yup, he still likes to chase the bunnies, or at least the ones he thinks he could catch. If he knows he hasn't a hope he doesn't bother. Been like this for years. He caught his very own just a few months ago. I'd rather they didn't but plenty foxes etc round here so nothing is wasted. Didn't he do well though! He's been on heart medication since he was 5, severed a tendon at nearly 7 so now walks with a noticable limp and takes daily metacam for his arthritis.
He's enjoying having new addition Ruby (arrived last Thur) and joined in the chasey game the girls were having the other night. He's a funny chap really. Not too fussed about his own kind and large dogs in general. Much prefers smaller dogs and very into wee things. My mothers chihuauas boss him around!
They most certainly are! So easy going. He's mellowed a lot as quite an active chap when I adopted him and always wanted to be on the go. He loved playing with other dogs but he usually frughtened the life out of them. For quite some time he was Lenny no mates till we adopted Rosie. They used to run round and round and believe it or not she could keep up with him. Rosie is 20in! He did calm down and played a little less vocally. You all know the greyhound vocal playing!
