Well, the orange boy has arrived. And he's HUGE!!! Actually he's very tall and very skinny - i'm sure he weighs less than Dave but is a tad taller than him. He's booked in for his neuter on Thursday so we'll see then what his weight is.
All three met up on the seafront, muzzles in place. Much sniffing of bottoms was carried out and they all walked nicely home. Once indoors, the bottom sniffing increased to licking but no-one seemed to mind so I let them get on with it. Daisy managed to get her own muzzle off so we took them off the other two as well.
Poor Dave and Daisy are completely bemused at this interloper but they'll just have to get used to it !
Dinner time was entertaining. Tom eats so quickly, he'd finished before Daisy started - I took hers out into the hall and she ate about half of it. Tom soon realised that Dave had some dinner left so tried muscling in - Neil managed to stop that. However, tomorrow I'm home alone so will have to be inventive to make sure they all get food !!!!
After dinner, he found the beds in the hall and pretty much hasn't moved since ! He tried the stairs - got up about four of them and turned round and almost fell down. Will try the stairs again later or he'll be left downstairs on his own all night. Atthe moment, I'm keeping an eye on his back end in case we have any toilet accidents tho, so far, he has only "been" in the garden.
All in all, after one afternoon, it's going ok so far.
Sounds encouraging Teresa, bet you can't stop looking at him
The stair thing takes time if they are not used to it and i think it's quite funny to watch. Sally had no hesitation going up and down the stairs right from day one but poblem is she bounds up them about four at a time, although she is fine coming down, thank god I make a point of putting her lead on and walking her up and down them a couple of times every day to teach her to take one step at a time, but an hour later she is back to her bounding self!!
Best of luck for the first night, let us know how he settles.
That's great news! It's so exciting when you get a new, (furry) bundle of joy home. Hopefully Tom will continue to maintain his excellent record and they will all settle quickly together.
I'm looking forward to hearing further updates and we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for you.
So pleased to hear that the big chap has settled in well. I hope you got him up the stairs in the end (Kevin carried Chad up on his first night here! He now sleeps downstairs though because the air conditioning was too cold for him! It was so hot down here in July I couldn't live without it with my eczema hands!) Anyway, I hope he had a good and accident free night. I hope you managed the feed too today without mishaps with each others food been stolen. Have you tried walking them all (or do both of you go out with them) I bet walking three would be a challenge!I used to sometimes struggle with two alone.
Can't wait to hear more about Tom and Dave and Daisey and how they adapt to him!
How lovely to hear that things are going well so far. Gail is right about the stair thing - Tom will soon learn that there is good stuff up stairs and be motivated enough to try! (As an aside, our Harry makes me laugh on the stairs - he normally bounds up and down them in 3 leaps, except for when he's been told to go back down again. In which case, he goes down as slowly as possible ensuring to tread on every single step!)
Keep us updated with how Tom is getting on and how Dave and Daisy are enjoying their new friend. And photos! We neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed foaties!!
Neil carried Tom upstairs last night and back down this morning. As I didn't have to get up for work I thought I'd have a lie-in. Trouble is, Tom was "stuck" downstairs so I ended up kipping for a couple of hours on the sofa !
Tom was quiet all night with no accidents. He actually asked me to let him out this morning - he must be learning from the other two.
At about 10am I went upstairs to have my wash. Whilst in the bedroom, brushing my hair, I hear a dog bound up the stairs - It was TOM !! I guess he was motivated to go up to find me. However, he wasn't so keen to go down! I left him for half an hour or so and eventually coaxed him down by supporting his front end. Half way down he froze so I almost carried him the rest of the way. Once down, he promptly turned round and ran back up Trouble is, now he can do it he keeps going up and down to show off !! He's reluctant to come down if Dave or Daisy are on the beds at the bottom of the stairs - I think he needs all that room to land !!
He has a bit of a runny bottom but that's to be expected with the move and change of food. All three seem fine so far. The only scuffle occurred when Dave tried stepping over Tom and trod on him instead. They had a bit of a spat and Dave ended up with a scratch on his side but it's barely broken the skin so not too bad at all.
Will try to feed Tom separately tonight - him in the hall and the other two in the kitchen. Just till they get used to each other. As Tom is very skinny, what's the best way to fatten him up healthily ??
Will try posting a couple of piccies later on tonight
He's a lovely big boy His coat looks in great conditon and he looks very at home already. Well done for giving him a forever home He just looks so relaxed and content. Jane

He is really lovely and i'm so glad everything seems to be going well, it's great he has now mastered the art of stair climbing.
Think the little scuffle is to be expected whilst they all find their feet (or paws), Neo and Sally are getting along just fine but they have had a few grumbles and it's usually to do with one or the other getting stood on...typical clumsy Grey's
Tom still doing very well on day 3. Today he was in our bedroom after Neil left for work at about 5am. I got up at 9.30, Tom and Daisy got up at 1.15 when Neil returned from work
Dinner time is creative - to make sure Tom doesn't steal Dave and Daisy's food, I have been feeding him in the hallway - the other two in the kitchen with the door shut. Trouble is, Dave and Daisy (especially Daisy) are easily intimidated and would leave all their dinner for Tom - I know I want him to put on weight but they all have to eat !!
Anyway, it's working for the moment.
Still no issues with the stairs, he's up and down like a yo-yo now ! I had forgotten how clumsy they are when first in a house - he's forever bumping into something !
He's off to the vet for his neuter tomorrow so that might stop him licking Dave and Daisy's nether regions Will report on his condition tomorrow evening.
What a handsome boy!!!! Very pleased to hear that he is settling in so well and his new brother and sister have accepted him so well - long may it continue. It's expected that they'll have the odd spat, just sorting out the pecking order. Hope his op goes well tomorrow. Looking forward to many more pics!
Tom came home about 3.30 and he's still asleep now (5.30). Only to be expected tho.
He has to go back tomorrow for a check-up because the vet said his skin reacted a bit so she wants to keep an eye on it. Have cooked him pasta to go with some scrambled egg for tonight, if he wants it. If not, he can have it for breakfast tomorrow.
He also now has lovely gleaming teeth and a micro-chip !!
Sounds like they are just monitoring the skin reaction but not classing it as serious so hopefully it will die down quite quickly. Maybe he is a bit like Neo, his skin is sensitive to everything, it must drive him nuts because something always seems to be itching him.
Let me know how he copes with his stitches and if you have to revert to a muzzle to get him to leave them alone.
Big hugs to Tom ( and Dave and Daisy too of course!)
Took Tom back for a check up today and his skin is fine. The vet said that lots of little bruises appeared around the operation site but they seemed to have disappeared now so he got the all-clear. He was fussed endlessly by the vet staff !
I can't believe how good he is - jumps into the car, waits for me to get hold of his lead before he jumps back out. Walks like an angel on the lead and bounces beautifully when he walks. Follows me around when we are at home .
Dave has tried barking at him to get Tom to chase him but Tom just looks all bemused as if to say "what's his problem?". Daisy also won't chase Dave - she gets up on the sofa to use it as her safe spot !!
Glad to hear Tom has recovered well from his op and has settled in so well. Tilly tries her best most days to get Drummer to play with her but he just looks at us saying "make her leave me alone......please!" She eventually leaves his alone and the look of relief on his face is hilarious - till she next tries!
Glad he got the all clear Teresa, he certainly seems to be settling well with you, you must be real chuffed.
How is he eating now after his op? I had to bin Sally's and make it fresh again today but she ate it this afternoon and then looked for more. At dinner tonight i tried to give her something light but she just looked at me like i was mad so i tried her usual dinner and she ate the lot So much for the picky eater
Gail, glad to hear Sally is back to normal so soon !
I cooked scrambled egg and pasta last night for Tom but he wasn't up to eating anything . I put it down for his breakfast this morning and he steamed thru it in double-quick time ! Tonight he had his normal food with a bit of chicken mixed in and that went down in about 5 seconds flat !!
At least I know I'll never have to throw food away again - what Dave and Daisy don't eat, Tom will finish And he could do with it, he looks so skinny but weighed in at 32.25kg - I was surprised at that.
Well done Teresa sounds like he,s settling in really well,we have just gave Badger his forever home 10 days ago and i cant believe how well he,s settled in...not even had any accidents.Seems like we,ve had had for ages just keeps getting better as you know it,s great to find all their wee quirks n habits hope he gets over the plum picking op soon.his pics are adorable awwwwww
hugs n lix need to work out how i get pics up grrrrrrr

Mel, well done for taking Badger on permanently - he's gorgeous
Tom is still doing well - ignoring his stitches completely (hope I haven't spoken too soon). He's just found out how to get on the sofa tho he's not keen as the surface isn't too stable. He had the same trouble with our bed !!
Bless! They're so funny. Tigger was/is the same. No problem with the bed now - we've definately got that nailed but the sofa is still a struggle. She drags herself up onto it at times - it's as if she can't quite figure out what to do with her hind legs. Other times she takes a flying leap and then struggles to get her feet sorted - they keep sliding down the side or back of cushions.
