I forgot to post this a few days ago so its a bit late! Anyway, about a week ago we had family over for the day and thought that we would go for a walk after lunch as they had brought their labrador with them. All was going well until both dogs heard something in some bushes. They both rushed in, at opposite ends and met in the middle. Suddenly, a great squeal was let out followed by horrific crying. We managed to stop the dogs and Minnie, the lab, came out first and then Rosie limped out behind her holding up her front left leg. At first we couldnt see any sign of injury, so I knelt down and gave Rosie a cuddle. It was only when I stood up and saw that my jeans were covered in blood that we noticed her leg. Strangely it was the other leg to the one she was holding up! We walked on a bit and had a good look. She had a small hole in her leg, right on the muscle. We went home and I bathed it in warm, salt water which seemed to help a lot. That night and the following few days everytime she tried to lie down she squealed as her weight was put on her sore leg!

She is fine now and the wound has almost healed. It hasnt bothered her since and didnt put her off enjoying the GALa We all had a great day and will definetely go again!

Poor Rosie, think it's always a shock when you first see the blood and realise they have been hurt, hope she gets well soon. From what i saw of her on Sunday she still enjoyed her day and she is a beautiful girl.

Hope Rosie feels better soon. It is upsetting to hear them squeal in pain.

Thank you for all your well wishes. I think she has forgotten about it now! I'm glad someone else sees her beauty! Can you believe she didnt win anything?! LOL It doesnt matter though, there's always next year!!

Hi, Laura - wee Rosie was a winner the moment she found you and her new family.

(Sorry, was that too slushy?? )

Thanks, maybe a bit slushy!! I say that Rosie is a winner at just being alive as she was one hour away from the killing field in County Duram. All the dogs who won desevered to, and I think the King is absolutely gorgeous!! The Queen is lovely too. As I said, there's always next year! And as long as it helps GAL raise money, it doesnt really matter who wins.

Great to hear that Rosie has recovered from her little accident. She is a very pretty little dog and as said so slushingly before me, sorry Fiona she most definatly is a winner you do not need to have a rossette for that. Nora

I hate it when any of mine get hurt.  It breaks your heart when you hear them squealing like that.  I am so glad she's ok and was able to make the GALa in the end.
