BLIND GEORGIE

Thought you would all like to know that Georgie is doing very well. He is the most undemanding dog I have ever met - allows himself to be led (slowly) wherever we wish, "performs" the moment his feet touch grass, finds his own waterbowl, food and bed and slept throughout the night, alone, without a murmur. We think he should be called Gabriel (because he is such an angel) but whatever name we choose, I get the feeling he will come when called because that's the way he is. Every now and again he stands in front of the television with his head on one side, listening to the voices - he must think that there are other people in the room. He likes to be petted, enjoys being groomed and rubbed with a soft towel. We're feeding him 4 smallish meals a day because he doesn't have a good appetite - but so far we've discovered he loves corned beef and pasta, tuna and pasta, ham and pasta but also happily eats moistened Arden Grange with just about anything added. Only one downside to this good report, Rosie is petrified of him and won't go anywhere near him but she has been through a lot of trauma recently - lost her mum and dad (Ruby and Reilly) in the space of 3 months and was seriously attacked by a dog when out walking with me (on her lead) a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully, she will come to love this gentle giant and let him be her new dad! Finally, my husband Paul is going out of his way to make Georgie feel secure - last night he left a lamp on for him???????????

What a terrific report on Georgie, well done for taking him home.  Let's hope Rosie comes round soon and sees what a lovely companion he will be for her

Congratulations on taking on Georgie - he looks and sounds adorable!  It's great to hear that he is doing so well.  I'm sure with time that Rosie will learn to love him too, as you said she's been through a lot lately, it may just take time. As for having Paul leaving the light on for him - we used to have night light that we plugged in for Tilly every night when we first got her! Hope he continues to do so well and keep us up-to-date with his progress.

He sounds like such a sweetie.  I really hope that Rosie learns to trust him and becomes his friend.

Sounds like Georgie is making really good progress. I hope that Rosie comes around to him and learns that he can be a friend to her. Poor little poppet has suffered a lot of late. I hope you're all enjoying being together and finding out about each other.
