Mel,

That is sad news I am sure he will be greatly missed.

He is Chad's Dad too. Do you know what happened to him or how old he was? You seem to know alot more about him than we do.

Thinking of Chart King and his family, Em and Chad xx

Thanks Mel,

Do you know what happened to him though? I guess I am just looking out for Chad after all he could have something in his genes that I could prevent.

My heart goes out to Chart King's family, no consolation for them but his name will live on in all his offspring for many years to come.

Did he have a 'family'? Sounds like he was a stud dog living in kennels, most probably. What I find really sad is that a dog of his age never had a family, but lived his whole life in kennels (at least that's what I am assuming, unless his racing owners had him in the house as a pet, in between 'servicing' bitches?)

It's sad that he died, but at least that means he won't be able to sire even more unwanted greyhounds

He stayed indoors with a family although they have kennels he retired a while ago and WAS kept as a pet.So yes he did have a family unlike the thousands who are just purely breeding machines...He will be sorely missed by the Hewitt family and his many admirers and siblings.

It does sound asthough he will be sadly missed and it's good he spent the end of his time as a pet. It just goes to show you can't tar everyone with the same brush
