The greyhound data site is amazing. You can learn so much from it. My own bitch Millie run under the name Rushwee Echo and I found from her ancestry that she is related to Badger (our first foster dog) and Jazzy (our current foster boy). Also, i managed to find the names of Kiera, my other bitch, her parents and from them there are common names too. So somewhere along the link they are all related. Even a man who stays locally his bitch comes from some same ancestors too.
Yep that would certainly explain a lot! Tigger has I'm Slippy in her background too. He's in both sides of her pedigree. Poor girl - no wonder she's a bit gormless sometimes!
We still love her to bits though - fits in beautifully!
Been offline for days...total torture. Very nice friendly helper has managed to get me back up and running!!!
Think I've started something here. It's never ending really. I traced Lenny back to a dog called Tiger in Africa in the 1700's. Can't even remember what line and I've never found it again! Off course all dogs will have a line that goes back to King Cob. He is the forefather of the modern day greyhound. He was himself actually part bull.
Lenny (as well as many others it would seem) has half brothers who are standing at stud in Russia, Finland as well as UK and Ireland. Didn't even know there was greyhound racing in those countries.
Lesley, we have Whisper Wishes too - seems that there are a few males who crop up in every pedigree.
Thanks for the tip about emailing Anja von Boehm by the way - I let her know that Piper is retired, and she promptly added the fact to the site and requested photos too. Very very nice.
After I'd sent the photos she told me that Piper looks very similar to Greenpark Fox - her grandad!
I've checked out Angus tattoo and although he doesn't have a racing name his mother was called Tripple Cross and his father was Lakeview Rodney and his father was?????..... You've gussed it - I'm Slippy!!
Ifound this picture of Monalee Champion from Angus' mothers side and it explains a bit about his skinnyness!
