Alastair Lawrie runs the small animal practice in Glasgow Vet School as well as many other things.  He is an excellent vet and the practice is state of the art.  Anyone near enough to go there is very lucky.

It is more than an hours drive for me, but I have been there frequently with chinchillas which are considered exotic and therefore outside the experience of most regular vets.
