Like most dogs they do cast, but not as much, whippets hardly cast along with poodles so all these tyoes of dogs are very good for people who are allergic to dogs. Hope this answers your Q . Nora

hey thanks nora....mmmm whippets eh do they have similar personalities to the likes of dan and sally for example?????? (and grey hounds in general) the one's i've met are very....er....sophisiticated...if thats the right word????????
If its an allergy query I have asthma and am allergic to loads of things including cats (not my own strangely) and the greyhounds have never affected me.
I have a whippet Sasha and she is just a minature greyhound, Has a great personality, is a little pocket rocket, very loving and obedient and gets on very well with other dogs.
Sasha

Question from my ten year old, did you get Sasha as a pup or is she a rescue dog? He really loves her and Whippets in general, he says as soon as he is old enough and leaves home that's the first dog he is getting...the second is a Greyhound from GAL!!! Kids eh!!
Can't speak for other greys, but our Belle definitely casts. This summer has been her worst yet, I sometimes wonder how she still has hair on her body judging by the amount she sheds. Can't miss a day with the hoover, it looks like tumbleweed rolling across the floor.
Could,nt resist putting on a photo of her Laura.LOL
Yes, we got Sasha as a 8 week old pup as a companion for Cas and had the pick of the litter. She chose us, we had taken Cas with us to see how she was with pups and Sasha lifted her lead and took Cas for a walk round the house, so that was that.
Sorry for highjacking your post Liverpool. Nora

Of our two, Ruby casts a lot for a greyhound, although much less than any other dog I've known, however Bob hardly casts at all - and gets jealous at the extra grooming Ruby gets to remove the loose fur. Don't know if it's colour related, Ruby is red (surprise!) and Bob is blue. Their fur is quote different though, its easy to tell them apart in the dark by fur texture alone.
