Have just received my news letter and congratulations Christine you've done a great job as editor as Glenda did before you. Loved the article on Harry and of course the pic of Blue and Hazel but I would say that wouldn't I!
Fiona i loved your article about Harry, he sounds exactly like Sally and it was a great boost for me reading it. She displays the exact same behaviour and i am working on it every day and although still early days i have seen some improvement. I realised early on that it would take time to help her over her fear of other dogs but love her so much that i knew she was worth the effort. It makes it a whole lot easier when you read about other grey's with the same problem and realise you are not alone.
The love i get from Sally and the joy of seeing her and Neo together makes dealing with her little problem all worthwhile and i'm sure you feel the same.
Have only had a flick through, but Tilly was delighted to see her picture in it, and she can't wait to tell Drummer that he's famous when she sees him tomorrow!
Yep, I got mine too today. It was great - much excitement in the household. Sadly there were no pictures of my pooches anywhere to be seen - they'll just need to try harder at events!!!!!
It's when you read through and see all the amazing amounts of cash that have been raised at events - it's very impressive. What a dedicated lot of people there are out there.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm delighted you're all enjoying the newsletter.
It was a nailbiter hoping that everyone was going to like what I produced. But I couldn't have done it alone. Thanks to Glenda and Dave for passing on all the letters, articles and information to me and making suggestions for future articles. Thanks to all the contributors to the newsletter, in particular to Dawn for her information on the Glen Nevis Walk and Fiona for her excellent article about Harry. I have to thank all of you who contribute to the Forum, too. It's a rich source of information, particularly about all the fundraising events as I can't get along to them all, much as I'd like to!
I've started work on the next one already and the two GAL Christmas shows will feature. Good luck to everyone and their dogs taking part in it!

Hear, hear. Fiona, your words on Harry were a great inspiration for me. Mason's not catsafe and has a very high prey drive. I muzzle him in built up areas and so far he hasn't been off the lead. Other dog owners (not greyhound owners I might add) I meet are always telling me how he should be allowed off for a run so hearing your experiences encourages me I am doing the right thing! Thank you
Congratulations on an excellent job (as usual). As usual, a few smiles, a few (okay, lots - both happy and sad) tears. Christine, you had a hard act to follow, but you've definitely managed it!
Harry's story makes us feel much better about our Cookie - sometimes you feel as if you have the only 'hound in the world which isn't laid back, easy to live with, etc., etc.!!! It's so good to know we're not alone (I'm fed up telling people what wonderful pets greys make only to have them say, but Cookie's a menace!!!)!
Anyway, many thanks, and keep up the good work (who knows, I might even be organised enough to send you something for the next one!!!)
