Introducing Django...
Permalink Closed

Hello everyone,

Been lurking for a while and think it's long overdue that I joined up and introduced both myself and Django.

We've had him for over 4 months now but it feels like he's been around forever. I read many similarities in the way he got off to a nervous start but is gradually getting to be more and more at home. He spent the first few weeks losing his kennel coat and is now the owner of a very shiny, velvety coat. He's currently quite puppyish and has started playing with things much more. Things = shoes, cushions, his teddy bear and lately used wool cones - these last items give him a sort of ant-eater appearance, must get a photo one of these days.

We were advised that greyhounds don't especially make good guard dogs though Django has at times seemed to want to prove this point wrong. He barks quite a lot at strangers though never acts aggresivley - his tail is always wagging at the same time. He is a big wimp though really. When he is out of the house he is terrified of most other dogs, some cats and most humans. He is much better than he was though, for a long time it was a struggle to get him to go for a walk at all. He is now mostly quite keen, however.

This is him before we got him;

He looks like a completely different dog to my eyes.

Here he is outside, a couple of months ago when the was nice enough for him to want to sit outside. He's sitting on an old padded guitar case that I no longer need.

Here he is on a more comfortable bed still. The bag is not his though I don't think he realises that.

He is a brilliant, very quirky and very loving dog who has brought a lot of happiness into our house.
