As we draw towards the end of 2006 it's time to reflect on another very successful year for ALL our foster homes, we've managed to home SO many dogs in 2006 from foster homes, it makes my job so much easier. Dogs in foster homes are so much easier to assess then place with the right family.
As usual we've lost our fair share of foster homes through the year, the inevitable always happens and a foster dog becomes a permanent feature in the home. So, as you guys are sitting munching turkey (or quorn pie) over the next few weeks take a few minutes to reflect on the available floor space around you, could that corner of the room filled with discarded Christmas wrapping fit another dog bed??...
GAL are now looking for new foster homes for 2007, don't worry if you've not fostered before, we have experts on hand to help you and your foster dog get settled, we'll supply all the required equipment and pay any vet bills...obviously we'll also supply the dog
If you are thinking about fostering just have a look at the Foster Dog thread and read just some of the wonderful stories of our foster dogs this year, hopefully that will inspire you to email david@gal.org.uk or carole@gal.org.uk for more information on fostering...
I'll be honest dave, we have been thinking about it, but want to wait til next year to have a think about the practicalities of it. We have discussed it a wee bit with Helen and Lindsay, but you'll be the first to know if we decide to take the plunge.
